    The main objective of my master thesis is the evaluation of the condition of underground waters which are located in the area of mining waste deposit situated in Buków. The fundamental interpretation of the underlying results concerning this investigation is based on the local monitoring of underground waters (LMWP). The first part deals not only with the localization and characteristics of mining waste deposit, but also it focuses on geological, hydrological, hydrogeological and climatic conditions which are specific for this area. The second part concentrates on archival measurements which were carried out in the period 1998-2009. These archival estimations together with the monitoring of underground waters give rise to the objective evaluations of the conditions of mining waste deposits, which correspond to the actual legal regulations ( RDW, DWP, RMS). This type of investigation leads to the classification of the quality of underground waters in the area of mining waste deposit situated in Buków. Moreover, it shows that mining waste deposits may have a great impact on the surrounding environment.
