Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaPhD thesis presents application of time-frequency methods to acoustic full waveforms (AFW) processing. The goals of the research are: precise determination of acoustic waves from AFW, wave field decomposition into separate waves and pointing out zones of different elastic parameters. First part of the thesis includes: theoretical background of time-frequency methods, information on full waveform acoustic logs and brief description of the data. Second part is devoted to detailed description of time-frequency analyses of acoustic full waveforms. Discrete and continuous wavelet transform and matching pursuit algorithm are applied to AFW. Simulations, methodology and results of each method are discussed in detail. From proposed methods matching pursuit reveals the best resolution and makes wave extraction possible. Results are used for transit interval time calculation, which are compared with the counterpart parameters obtained from the original waveforms (i.e. not decomposed with matching pursuit). Additionally, decompositions are used for determination of frequency content of each wave packet. Time-frequency representations of AWF are also used to improving qualitative interpretation. On the basis of continuous wavelet transform time-depth-frequency plots for a given frequency are constructed. What is more, continuous wavelet transform and matching pursuit decomposition are used to calculating instantaneous attributes that indicate local changes of geological formation. Presented research is a kind of methodological work. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe paper presents an analysis of the acoustic wave forms obtained for the four holes located within the Przedkarpackie foredeep. In order to process and interpret the results of measurement GeoWin system was used (FWS Wave 2 application). Obtained value of compressional and shear waves velocity together with the velocity of Stoneley waves as well as the calculated Vp / Vs ratio allowed for the interpretation of the geological structure of the given rock centers. Designated interval times of the P and S waves with density profiling also enabled the determination of dynamic elastic modulus of rock. A juxtaposition of the dependency of velocity and bulk modules on the value of the Vp/Vs ratio, porosity and clay volume was made. Well logging curves analysis with particular emphasis of dipmeter allowed to determined depth intervals with characteristic sediment features. Intervals were determined on the basis of well logging data, cores descriptions, laboratory surveys and seismic images. This paper includes also a correlation between selected wells. Analysis includes borehole geophysics data and laboratory data. Borehole geophysics data was analyzed using the program Petrel 2011. These data were used to separate prospective horizons and also to determine petrophysical parameters. Author characterized and analyzed the petrophysical parameters obtained from drill cores. There was realized compare of the gas flow from tested horizons and analyze gas and reservoir water. This master's thesis was based on the two boreholes Pogwizdow-2 Pogwizdow-3 located on the Pogwizdow bed. The paper consists of two parts. The first was described geological structure, presents the characteristic orificial geophysics curves occurring in the borehole. Summarizes the laboratory testing, analysis of cores and geophysical surveys. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaIn order to characterize the influence of petrophysical parameters on permeability of rocks, statistical analysis was performed on core data which includes porosity, permeability, density and the percentage of calcium carbonate content. Characteristics of porosity, permeability and the Flow Zone Indicator (FZI) have been presented. There were discovered differences in FZI between the hydrocarbon-bearing sections and the unproductive beds of the well Nowosielec-3, and between reservoir rocks and vaste rocks of the wells Jata-1 and Kończyce-1. A division of data set due to the FZI has been realized and statistical relations between permeability and porosity in homogeneous flow units have been established. Relations describing a mobility of media in pore space for FZI units appeared to be stronger than for the total data set. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaW pracy opisano przyczyny radialnych zmian porowatości neutronowej, FN, uzyskanej ze zliczeń detektorów w kompensacyjnych sondach neutronowych. Analizę czynników wpływających na charakter profilowań neutronowych w kierunku poziomym przeprowadzono na bazie danych z czterech otworów wiertniczych znajdujących się w różnych częściach zapadliska przedkarpackiego, przewiercających mioceńską formację skalną typu cienkie warstwy. Przedyskutowano przyczyny takiego zjawiska, uwzględniając obecność stref pierścieniowych wokół otworu, związanych z wnikaniem płuczki wiertniczej do skał otaczających otwór, wpływ cienkich warstw na wskazania sond, rolę kroku próbkowania oraz zasięgu radialnego poszczególnych sond. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaIn the thesis there have been shown the influence of the nearbore zone on the results of well-logging. The research was made on the biggest Polish gas deposit Przemyśl, in the boreholes Batycze-1 and Batycze-2. Here, reservoir horizons are related with the thinly-layered Miocene formation of sandstone and shale. An impact of the invasion zone was shown by electrical log. Very helpful were also measurements made by induction tool HRAI, which were the base for the conducted analysis. For this purpose, well-logging data were used, in particular data recorded with acoustic dipole tools. With the P and S waves velocities available, measured at the dipole setting in two orthogonal directions XX or YY (S$_{Fast}$ and S$_{Slow}$), the elastic $\varepsilon$ and $\gamma$ parameters were calculated. In this paper we evaluate the effect of different factors e.g., porosity, clay and kerogen content on the velocity of anisotropy shale gas formations. A geostatistical analysis of elastic and reservoir properties was carried out in order to determine the character of the variability of Silurian and Ordovician shale formations in all of the studied wells. This can affect both a single layer (then it is related to the microstucture) and a sequence of layers (a large scale). This paper discusses elastic components of anisotropic media with so-called transverse isotropy (TI) and Thomsen coefficients characterizing the P-wave and S-wave anisotropy and $V_{P}/V_{S}$ ratio. The data was received from Poszukiwania Nafty i Gazu Jasło. The thesis is divided into few different chapters. The first one contains geological, stratigraphical and tectonical characteristics of the reservoir and the wells. The second chapter consists of information regarding geophysical researches conducted during the prospecting of the reservoir. The third one contains information about clay minerals and their amount as a parameter, in the fourth one analysis of cross-plots in GeoWin program was made. The fifth chapter depicts the analysis of the influence of variable parameters on porosity and resistivity of the rocks and in the sixth one the interpretation made in GeoWin program is presented. The paper includes describe research of radiogenic heat production at sedimentary rocks in Brońsko’s area. Elaboration contains two parts: theoretical and practical . All natural radioactive isotopes generate heat to a certain extent, but only the contributions of the decay series of 238U, 235U, 232Th, and of the isotope 40K are geologically significant. Full Wave Sonic device is one of the tools used to get such data. For the interpretation of acoustic full wavefroms dedicated programs are used for example FalaFWS in the GeoWin system or other worldwide programs. Horizons were determined on the basis of reservoir parameters and the content and type of the media in reservoirs. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaIn the dissertation, the petrophysical and geophysical characteristics of the selected gas deposit in the Carpathian Foredeep was presented and geostatistical approach was proposed for seismic facies modeling and fluid flow modeling in die gas deposit when limited number of data is available. The main goal of the research was focused on scaling geological and geophysical data from various sources: point-type results of laboratory measurements (micro scale), one-dimensional well logging data (mezo scale) and 2D seismic data (macro scale) for improving the description of the deposit and for construction of proper static three- dimensional model for dynamic fluid flow modeling in the gas deposit. The gas deposit from the north-eastern part of the Carpathian Foredeep from the sandy-shaly thinly-bedded Sarmatian formation was selected for the research due to great amount and availability of geological data, and results of laboratory measurements, and well logging with their comprehensive interpretation results and 2D seismic data, and also due to good recognition of structural and sedimentation conditions. The division of the reservoir rock into units with homogeneous ability to media flow obtained on thę basis of laboratory data and well logging data can be recognized as the original result of the research together with the expanding of this one-dimensional pattern to three- dimensional structure of deposit. Interpretation was done with Interlog application (GeoWin software) in three wells: Jabłonna-2, Łapanów-3 and Pilzno- 48K. The first part of this thesis was about calculation of volumes of mineral components, porosity, permeability and water or hydrocarbon saturation. Thesis contains results of complex interpretation of Main Dolomite formation in Sowia Gora - 1, Sowia Gora - 2k & Sowia Gora - 4 wells, and correlating them with the Miedzychod-Sierakow 3D seismic prospect. Results of laboratory test and core sample descriptions were analyzed before starting the interpretation. Interlog and Crossplot (GeoWin system) applications were used to analyze the mineral composition and define petrophysical parameters. Results were tied to the seismic project with synthetic seismograms (using Humpson-Russell software).
