The Gorzów Wielkopolski area is located within the Fore-Sudetic Monocline, on Gorzów Block. The Main Dolomite is a level, which provides a substantial quantity of oil and natural gas. In molecular composition of natural gas extracted in wells situated in the area of Gorzów Wielkopolski an occurrence of hydrogen sulfide has been found. H2S is a gas that is hazardous, harmful to the environment and its desulphurization is required. In this thesis the most important actions to minimize environmental hazards ensuing from exploitation of a natural gas abundant in H2S have been described. The main assumption of these methods is reduction to a minimum of hydrogen sulfide emission to the atmosphere. The natural gas wells located in the Gorzów Wielkopolski area have been equipped with one of the most modern methods of H2S removal from exploited gas. Thanks to it, problems related to environmental hazards during exploitation of gas abundant in hydrogen sulfide have been resolved at present.
