    The topic of this thesis is the profitability of agricultural biogas plants built in Poland. At the beginning it presents the fundamental issues of methane fermentation, and most commonly used feedstock for the production of agricultural biogas. In the farther part was examined the current development of agricultural biogas plants in Poland. Also were discussed the basic building blocks in a typical biogas plant, as well as was presented the possibility of simultaneous production of electricity and heat in a cogeneration process in such systems. In the next part of the work was examined, summarized, and compared the economic efficiency of various agricultural biogas plants. In the last chapters mentioned about ecological and environmental benefits of the operation of biogas plants. All work has to document and summarize the most important aspects of energy production from agricultural biogas and analyze the profitability of the investment in agricultural biogas plants both from the financial side and paying attention to the overall benefits of the construction of biogas plants.
