Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analiza względnych zmian wiekowych pola magnetycznego Ziemi (1966-2005) wzdłuż profilu Zgorzelec-Wiżajny(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Bojdys, Grzegorz; Grabowska, Teresa; Marchewka, Józef; Suchoń, BogusławThe paper presents results of the studies on local relative time variations of total geomagnetic field observed along the 700 km long profile crossing the Paleozoic Platform (PLZ), Transeuropean Suture Zone (TESZ) and East European Craton (EEC). The study is a continuation of the research conducted in the years 1966-2000. Measurements of the Earth's magnetic field made in the last five years revealed a new phenomenon, which was a faster increase of the magnetic field observed at the EEC. They proved also that the dynamics of the magnetic field variations observed for the EEC was greater than it was for TESZ and PLZ. The character of geomagnetic field variations observed during the last five years caused the modification of method of studies of relative secular geomagnetic variations.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Metadata only , Badanie związków między fizycznymi parametrami mierzonymi na powierzchni Ziemi i w otworach dla podwyższenia równomierności rozkładów interpretowanych cech geofizycznych i geologicznych - metoda zbieżności lokalnej(Data obrony: 2004) Probulski, Jaromir
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Dwuwymiarowe modelowania grawimetryczne w polskich Karpatach Zachodnich(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Bojdys, Grzegorz; Grabowska, Teresa; Medoń, ZdzisławaNew interpretation methodology has been applied based on determination of the equivalent structure, the gravity impact of which simulates the regional component of the anomaly field observed. Use of the equivalent structure has facilitated quantitative interpretation of gravity anomalies with the 2D modelling method. Density models of the sedimentary crust complex and the Precambrian substratum have been presented along two profiles intersecting the Polish Outer Carpathians. Geological data have been used for model construction (drillings, geological maps, sections) and results of deep seismic surveys and magnetotelluric surveys. Calculation of gravity effects has allowed to determine the contribution of sedimentary cover, substratum and crystalline complex of the crust in formation of the anomaly field. Gravity effects corresponding to the models have been presented with observed gravity force anomalies. Results of 2D gravity modelling have confirmed relationship of the gravity Carpathian low and the deep structure of the crust and indicated subordinate role of sediments in creating of the gravity anomaly field in the Polish Western Carpathians.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geofizyczno-geologiczna interpretacja anomalii grawimetrycznych i magnetycznych w polskich Karpatach Zachodnich(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2007) Grabowska, Teresa; Bojdys, Grzegorz; Lemberger, Marek; Medoń, ZdzisławThe study presents results of qualitative interpretation of gravity anomaly and anomaly of the total intensity of the geomagnetic field against the background of the geological structure of the central part of Polish Western Carpathians. Interpretation of gravity anomalies was preceded by an analysis of density of Carpathian flysch and substratum rocks. Maps of local anomalies showing various degree of details have been obtained by transformation of anomaly fields with appropriately selected parameters. The transformed gravity and magnetic anomalies were confronted with geological research data and magnetotelluric data. Convergence of negative gravity anomalies occurrence with the intermontane depressions Orava - Nowy Targ and Nowy Sącz and the zones of tectonic windows occurrence as well as positive gravity anomalies with positive magnetic anomalies and Precambrian substratum elevations, were demonstrated.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Rekonesansowe badania podatności magnetycznej utworów przypowierzchniowych na wybranych obszarach południowej Polski(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Wojas, Anna; Rolirat, Anna; Grabowska, TeresaIn the article, the reconnaissance investigations of the magnetic susceptibility of soils and ochre are presented. Field investigations have been performed in southern Poland, namely in the Łąki Nowohuckie area of Krakow, the eastern surroundings of the city of Trzebinia, and the hamlet of Czerwonki near Rzeszów. Laboratory magnetic analyses have been completed. An increase of soil susceptibility has been observed in the studied areas with high anthropopression (Krakow and Trzebinia). It has been proven that iron particles collected in the soil come from urban-industrial emissions. The higher susceptibility of soils in the Łąki Nowohuckie area, than in the vicinity of Trzebinia, has also been affirmed. The diversity of the low values of soil susceptibility in the Trzebinia area is not connected to the Zn-Pb ores which occurred there. The investigations of ochre susceptibility at Czerwonki Hermanowskie have confirmed its quite strong magnetic properties in comparison with properties of the soil situated in a nearby deposit. The large differentiation of ochre susceptibility has been observed. It is probably connected with the mineral composition of ochre and the processes that occurred in the deposit. The ochre deposit slightly disturbs the geomagnetic field (microanomalies) as is shown on the micromagnetic anomaly map.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Relative secular variations of the Earth’s magnetic field in the years 1966–2016 along the profile across the main tectonic units of Poland (Zgorzelec-Wiżajny profile)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Wojas, Anna; Grabowska, TeresaThe paper summarizes 50 years of research on relative local secular variations of the total magnetic intensity (TMI) along Zgorzelec-Wiżajny profile (Z-W profile) through the years 1966–2016. The Z-W profile (approximately 650 km length) cuts through Europe’s major tectonic units, including a zone of Variscan folds in the Paleozoic platform (PP), the Trans-European Suture Zone (TESZ) and the Polish part of the East European Craton (EEC). Measurements of TMI were made at 31 sites of the profile and reduced to the base recordings at the Central Geophysical Observatory in Belsk. Based on linear approximations of relative geomagnetic field values changes in time, relative annual changes in time (relative secular variations) expressed in nanoteslas [nT] per year were calculated. The study on relative geomagnetic field values revealed slower secular variations of the geomagnetic field in EEC as compared to those in PP and TESZ. However, they show lower amplitudes of these variations. An interesting phenomenon are rapid changes in the time of the relative values (trends) of TMI starting from the year 2000, also expressed as the relative secular variations per year, particularly visible in PP area. In the qualitative sense, relative secular variations show a correlation with the main geological units in the Polish territory and also important elements in the seismic and geothermal model of the lithosphere.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Restricted , Współczesne procesy geodynamiczne w obrazie czasowych zmian siły ciężkości wraz z analizą wpływu na jej pomiar czynników zewnętrznych(2007-06-25) (Data obrony: 2008) Łój, Monika
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe aim of this paper was working measuring methodology out and analyses of temporary gravity changes for geodynamic gravity survey. Fundamental research training ground were gravity profies established above salt dome "Dębina", put in the central part of the ditch Kleszczów and separated two part of brown coal mine “Bełchatów”, and experimental profiles established in the area of the Polish section of the Outside West Carpathian. It provided source data to analysis of temporary gravity changes and factors influencing its measurement connected with the used methodology of research works and weather conditions appearing under making the measurement, especially barometric changes (Barlik, 1988, 1996; Torge, 1989) and appearing clouds. For gravity geodynamic survey on “Dębina” training ground was worked out the measuring methodology, called the method of the single measurement. It let the accuracy of the results appropriate for getting of observation. Analysis of the influence of individual factors on gravity value measured up and defining the aptness in which the given factor must be taken into consideration will let value for increasing accuracies measured up. Thanks to that around bigger with accuracy to determine possible sources of geodynamic movements observed in temporary gravity changes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wyniki badań nad lokalnymi zmianami pola magnetycznego Ziemi na lubelskim skłonie wschodnioeuropejskiego kratonu (profil Parczew – Chełm)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Bojdys, Grzegorz; Grabowska, Teresa; Wójcik, Aleksander; Medoń, ZdzisławaThe local relative changes of the total intensity geomagnetic field in time are presented against the background of the geological structure of Lublin-Podlasie slope (LPSK) of the East European Craton. The research concerned measurement results of the total intensity (T) of the geomagnetic field, taken in the last 12 years (1997-2008) at 20 sites located along the Parczew - Chełm profile. Relative temporal changes of the geomagnetic field were determined on the basis of values of geomagnetic field calculated with reference to geomagnetic field measured at the base. These changes are presented as graphs, and in the form of space-time 2D and 3D representations, showing their relationship with the magnetic anomaly map. The cause of local relative changes was attempted to be explained by 2D magnetic modeling assuming that the changes of the induced magnetization of the basement crystalline rocks are result of the geomagnetic secular variations.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Open Access , Zastosowanie wybranych metod geofizycznych do rozpoznania facjalnego utworów górnojurajskich na Wyżynie Krakowsko-Częstochowskiej(Data obrony: 2007) Jędrys, Joanna
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe main aim of the thesis was to test the chosen geophysical methods in research of facies differentiation of the Upper Jurassic carbonate sediments in the Cracow-Czestochowa Upland (CCU). In the regional scale - the whole CCU area - the magnetic method was applied, and in the local scale - a single outcrop - the ground penetrating radar (GPR). The aim of the magnetic research was to check the hypothesis for relation between pattern of the Upper Jurassic carbonate buildups complexes and magmatic and plutonic bodies located in the Palaeozoic basement of the CCU along the Cracow-Lubliniec Fault Zone. It was proved that the most of carbonate buildups complexes is developed above magmatic intrusions that are connected with this zone. In the research the semi-detailed ground magnetic data, the results of local magnetic survey as well as geological data were used. Magnetic anomalies were interpreted in order to determine their sources, size and location depth. Subsequently the correlation between the pattern of limestone facies on the CCU and the pattern of the intrusions in the CCU basement was carried out. The GPR method was tested in the spatial-facial analysis of the Upper Jurassic carbonate buildups complexes, legibility of karst forms and discontinues tectonic structures. The GPR surveys were conducted in the Twardowski Rocks in Cracow and in the Olsztyn Rocks in Olsztyn. Additionally, the 3D GPR image of karst channels, which are developed in the bedded limestone, was constructed on the basis of the surveys in the area of the Twardowski Rocks.
