Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Restricted , Badanie wpływu ozonu na proces spalania gazu(Data obrony: 2007) Wilk, Małgorzata Maria
Wydział Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki PrzemysłowejThe effects of ozone additions to natural gas/air mixtures on emissios of $CO, C_{n}H_{m}, NO$ and $NO_{2}$ were studied. The investigations were realized in two stages. In the first stage, the tests were performed using a facility composed of an ozone generator, three combustion reactors (two tubular reactors and a modified Mecker burner), gas composition, flow rate and temperature measurement instrumentation. Comparisons were made of combustion with and without ozone additions. The air excess coefficient was changed between 0.9 and 1.4 and the ozone concentration between 3 to 8.84 $mgO_{3}/dm^{3}$ in air and between 9.1 to 13.74 in air enriched with oxygen. The tests were performed for thermal power of the reactors of 200, 260, 330 and 390 W. In the second stage, the investigations were performed using a modified Mecker burner. The tests were done for 1.25 to 14 $mgO_{3}/dm^{3}(N_{2}+O_{2})$ additions at 260, 330 and 390 W thermal power and air excess coefficient of 0.8 to 1.4 using synthetic air. Numerical studies of the combustion process using CHEMKIN II package were also performed. A decrease of $CO$ and $C_{n}H_{m}$ concentrations with ozone concentration in air and increase with thermal power were confirmed and a slight increase of $NO$ observed. No effects of ozone on $NO_{2}$ concentrations were seen. The numerical results are in qualitative agreement with experiments.
