Wydział Fizyki i Informatyki StosowanejA new model for the electrical conductivity in disordered systems, based on the Morgan-Howson-Saub model, is presented. In an extreme case the model can be completely free of parameters. The optimal version has turned out to be the one with two small-range parameters, that are characteristic for each element and independent of the specific system. The results are in good agreement with the experimental data and are very stable. Calculations for dozens of two-element systems were performed, and a complete set of results is presented: from Fermi energies and effective valences up to the phase-shifts diagrams and resistivity plots. The model has been generalized for multi-element system and exemplary results for three-element systems have been presented. This generalization was applied to disordered hydrogenated two-element systems. Calculations for those systems are hypothetical but may be considered as a proposition for experimenters and show the basic hydrogenation effects on the conductivity. On the basis of the generalized Morgan-Howson-Saub model, the presence of the external magnetic field has been introduced. With this correction the calculations for magnetically induced metal-insulator transition in Gd-Si system has been successfully performed.
