Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Badanie możliwości utylizacji pozostałości po recyklingu odpadów szklanych w produkcji kruszywa piaskowcowego(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Nowak, Alicja; Tora, Barbara; Tajchman, Zbigniew; Peszko, BarbaraGlass recycling uses less energy than manufacturing glass from sand, lime and soda. Every metric ton of waste glass recycled into new items saves 315 additional kilograms of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere during the creation of new glass. Glass wastes, which can be recycled not are allowed to contain: monitors, window glass: car glass, mirrors, lamps, crystal articles, ceramics, glass decorative units, ceramic waste of china, breakage, soil, metals, glass from kinescope lamps. The results of investigations were introduced over possibility of utilization of glass wastes which can not be used as standard glass breakage. The proposal of residue of glass waste recycling as sandstone aggregate compound was tested.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Składanie rozkładów wielkości ziaren otrzymanych z różnych metod pomiarowych(2006) Peszko, Barbara; Niedoba, Tomasz; Szymańska-Czaja, MariaThe methods of determination of grain compositions have limited measurement range and in many domains of industry, the necessity of conducting material grain analysis of sizes being outside the working range of certain method. For example, the grain composition analysis of majority of rock materials and also products being manufactured synthetically as abrasive powders needs to be conducted for the grain sizes from millimeter part (sieve analysis) to a few micrometers (sedimentation analysis) or even below this limit. Thus, there is a need for relevant method of one sort of data conversion to second one. This paper presents the analysis of results recalculation from two various methods of size analysis and how can they be transformed and connected to create one associative size distribution function, by means of relatively simple experimental and calculative techniques.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ kształtu ziaren na łączny rozkład ich wielkości wyznaczony metodą licznika Coultera(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Peszko, Barbara; Niedoba, TomaszCoulter Counter is one of the most common devices applied to counting ultrafine particles. Because of its construction, this device is able to count particles of sizes from 10% till 60% of the diameter of installed diaphragm. To obtain the full particle size distribution it is necessary to combine given partial distribution functions. To approximate the partial distribution functions given by various installed diaphragms, the Weibull distribution function was applied. For the researched material, which was diabase, the set of shape coefficients was calculated, which may be taken into consideration by individual partial distribution functions combination. The shape coefficients were calculated on the basis of image analysis method and of particle size distribution results. The given joined distribution functions, with and without application of shape coefficient, were compared and evaluated.
