Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaCelem niniejszej pracy była analiza anomalnego zapisu sejsmicznego w rejonie Wojnicz-Pleśna. W ramach realizacji pracy użyto programu Hampson-Russell. Wykonano szereg procedur interpretacyjnych w celu uwidocznienia anomalii sejsmicznych związanych z nasyceniem węglowodorów lub wskazaniu nowych możliwych stref akumulacji. W pierwszym etapie zostały dowiązane dane sejsmiczne do danych otworowych. Kolejnym krokiem była analiza wytypowanych przekrojów sejsmicznych odtworzone w wersji atrybutów trasy sejsmicznej. The 3D seismic survey is based on the promising hydrocarbon exploration area: Lwówek – Brody. The prospective formations for accumulation of oil and gas are the Main Dolomite and the Zechstein Limestone. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe interpretation of seismic data incorporating an analysis of amplitude variations with offset was proved to be indispensable in terms of the hydrocarbon prospecting in many areas. The aim of the PhD thesis was to test different AVO attributes of seismic data in terms of the identification of natural gas accumulations in the Miocene formation of the Carpathian Foredeep. The performed model-based tests of the following AVO attributes: intercept-gradient-curvature, fluid factor, elastic impedance, extended elastic impedance, Poisson impedance, polarization attributes and estimates of material constants allowed us to determine their effectiveness as direct gas indicators. The additional issues covered by the thesis were the simulations concerning an influence of random noise and angular spectrum of common-depth gather on the reliability of the estimates of the AVO attributes. The conclusions derived from the analyses of the model data allowed us to indicate the weak and good points of a particular AVO attribute in various geological conditions. The application of the mentioned attributes on the analysis of the chosen seismic data (both 2D and 3D) from the area of the Carpathian Foredeep allowed us not only to unambiguously confirm the positive character of some observed seismic anomalies, but also to indicate potential directions towards which future studies concerning an AVO analysis should be faced.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Application of inverse Q filtering for improvement of seismic resolution in the Zechstein formation (SW Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2013) Król, Monika; Cichostępski, Kamil; Dec, Jerzy; Pietsch, KajaSeismic wave attenuation has strong, negative effect on the seismic data resolution. The high influence of this phenomenon was observed during realization of seismic survey »Duża Wólka 3D« (Geofizyka Kraków S.A. 2010a). The resolution of recorded seismic data was very low due to high attenuation caused by the Lower Triassic Buntsandstein sandstones. In consequence, interpretation of the thin-layered Zechstein formation is ambiguous. The aim of this paper is to present the multi-stage algorithm for the purpose of minimizing the attenuation effect, hence increasing the resolution of the seismic data. In order to achieve this, the inverse <i>Q</i> filtering process was used. The <i>Q</i> factor (quality factor) was estimated from the vertical seismic profiling data (Geofizyka Kraków S.A. 2010c). To verify the effectiveness of inverse <i>Q</i> filtering, seismic modelling was performed. Results received from seismic modelling gave basis for application the inverse <i>Q</i> filtering on real data. For this operation the seismic time profile inline 112 was chosen from the seismic data set »Duża Wólka 3D«. The application of simple seismic modeling for the interpretation of low resolution seismic data is presented. The aim of researches was to detect and locate the empty spaces or crypts under flooring of Basilica Jasna Góra . The author of this thesis processed and made attempt of interpretation of the data. The echogram analyses showed several hyperbolical anomalies, which may be caused by cavities (crypts). Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaLithofacies of carbonate buildups are one of the main focuses of geological and geophysical exploration, due to possibility of occurrences of hydrocarbons accumulations within these structures. In Poland, these lithofacies are known in Permian Zechstein deposits. In the neighborhood of Zielona Góra and Nowa Sól hydrocarbons deposits were discovered within Main Dolomite formation. It is thought, that more deposits exists in this area. Carbonate formations of Main Dolomite belonging to second cycle of Werra are considered as most oil and gas prospective. Because of their relatively small sizes the carbonate buildups are difficult to detect and contour from the seismic records, particularly when the records are low quality. The aim of this thesis was structural interpretation of fragment of Nowa Sól- Wschowa 2D seismic survey in order to prospecting for hydrocarbons in Main Dolomite formation. Reefs, which are potential hydrocarbon traps, in view of theirs shape, size and properties, are difficult for interpretation. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe thesis is an example of an integrated (both geological and geophysical) analysis of seismic data, focused on structural and tectonic aspects. The analysis was made based on the detailed study of 3D seismic data (ZOCA-2 survey) form the Bonaparte Basin (NW Shelf of Australia) and interpretation of logs from Thorton-1 well. The literature review encompasses a broad spectrum of different problems like the regional geology of the NW Shelf of Australia, evolution and petroleum potential of individual basins and sub-basins forming northern Australian margin (chapter 2), some structural and tectonic problems (chapters 3 and 5) as well as stricte geophysical aspects like complex trace and seismic attributes analysis (chapter 4). Seismic data analysis was not only concentrated on structural and tectonic aspects, but also took into account preliminary structural traps integrity assessment (leaking due to fault reactivation). To support structural interpretation of conventional amplitude seismic data, seismic attribute analysis (especially helpful in Identification of polygonal faulting (chapter 4)) as well as synthetic seismic modelling (useful in the determination of type of linkage between faults forming a conjugate fault system recognized on seismic sections) were used. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaAn anomalous amplification of a seismic amplitude in a reservoir zone is frequently the main indicator of gas saturation in a pore space (bright spot). It might be caused by the constructive interference of seismic signals reflected form the top and the bottom of a bed that thickness is lesser than a wavelength (tuning). The assessment of the tuning effect is indispensable when the amplitude analyses are treated as the main hydrocarbon indicator. The aim of the PhD thesis was to develop the methods of identification and elimination of the amplitude effect connected with the tuning. They are based on a change in both amplitude and shape of a seismic signal. The multivariant seismic modeling was the main research method. It was used to establish both the identification criteria of the seismic response of the thin-bedded strata and the methods of identification and elimination of the undesirable amplitude amplification caused by changes of a thickness. The developed methods and interpretational criteria were applied to both geological and reservoir interpretation of the seismic response of the Cenomanian sandstone in the 3D Grobla-Rajsko-Rylowa seismic survey area. It allowed us to separate the observed amplitude anomalies into two groups: first one caused by the gas saturation and second one caused by the thin layers. The first part of this thesis was the interpretation of seismic data. The interpretation helped to identify major and minor structural blocks and faults on this area. The important stage was a seismic attribute analysis used as a standard tool for interpretation of seismic data. The second part was a visualization of the structural elements. 3D visualization shows seismic horizons, marked faults, bioherms and present tectonic elements. Results presented in this work were prepared for KGHM Polska Miedź SA which plans to mine copper ores in this area by 2018. A structural interpretation was created in Geographix (LMKR) by using 2D seismic data and well logg data. It gave foundation to implement the structural map of Miocene base. The following sections allowed to interpret the seismic horizons corresponding to the lithostratigraphy of the area, and to complete the analysis of tectonic structures. Seismogeological models, developed on the basis of previously interpreted horizons and well data, can be confirmed by seismic modelling on the basis of comparison theoretical with recorded seismic sections. Additional availability of PS sections, beside PP sections, sanctions S wave velocity model construction, which is an important element of reservoir interpretation. This article presents methodology of seismic modelling, comparison of theoretical with recorded seismic sections and finally developed depth P and S wave welocity models for the chosen profile. The reliable reconstruction of the structural system of the platform basement formations require application of 2D seismic modelling. The paper presents the application of seismic modelling for interpretation of the 56-1-89K profile, recorded in the Stryszawa structure area, in the western part of the Outer Carpathians. Seismogeological models were developed using borehole data (Lachowice 7 and Ślemień 1) and the preliminary interpreted 56-1-89K profile. Theoretical time sections were computed with the softwares: Outrider and Omega. Wszystkie procedury przeprowadzono w systemie Petrel. Konwersja czasowo-głębokościowa bazowała na ponad 80 różnych modelach prędkości. Dokonano selekcji wizualnej błędnych wyników oraz statystycznej pozostałych wariantów. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaIntensyfikacja poszukiwań węglowodorów na obszarze Niżu Polskiego jest związana z perspektywicznością utworów permskich, w tym osadów dolomitu głównego. W niniejszej pracy starano się udowodnić obecność nasyconych budowli węglanowych w zachodniej części zdjęcia sejsmicznego Świebodzin – Sulechów 2D. Zarówno atrybutowe przetworzenie rzeczywistego pola falowego, jak i odtworzenie krzywych pseudoimpedancji akustycznej na podstawie zarejestrowanych tras sejsmicznych (inwersja) posłużyło do zlokalizowania obecności pułapek złożowych w poziomie dolomitu głównego. Potwierdzeniem poprawności zastosowanych procedur są pozytywne wyniki wierceń: Gryżyna – 1, Gryżyna – 2, Gryżyna – 3 oraz Gryżyna – 4.
