The practical eff ect of analysis is a prediction of the destruction of the level network in the researched areas. The identification of the degradation process as a function of time enables the rational planning of updating measurements. The neuralgic point of the question is an acquisition of data which fulfi lls the reliability approach demands. This question as well as the procedure of the reliability analysis method of data is presented in this paper. In the examples of two cases the authors present the results of research on control level network situated in urban areas in compact sett lement conditions.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Inwentaryzacja obiektu geotechnicznego na przykładzie Kopca im. Piłsudskiego w Krakowie(2008) Toś, Cezary; Wolski, Bogdan; Zielina, LeszekInventory surveys of shape and deformation measurements of geotechnical structures can be effectively carried out by scanning technology which integrates data produced by scanning tacheometry, digital photographs and tacheometrical surveys of break lines. This technology the authors applied surveying and analysing the geotechnical structure of The J. Piłsudski Mound in Cracow. Results of the surveys have been worked out by three kinds of 3D models viz. TIN, solid body model and contour model. The accuray of the final model which has been achieved in presented research amounts to 2-3 cm. If jobs enclose an area, which is vast and difficult for the measurement, the primary importance has the due assortments of the equipment, of applied methods and organization of measurements. On the basis of experience authors draw conclusions and formulate recommendations concerning the optimization of geodetic measurements.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Topographic differencing for determining reservoir sedimentation using archival cartographic materials and modern measurement methods(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2026) Baziak, Beata; Bodziony, Marek; Toś, Cezary; Szafarczyk, AnnaThe aim of the study was to assess the sedimentation of the Klimkówka reservoir using topographic differencing (TD) analysis of digital elevation models (DEMs) created for two periods: before the reservoir was filled and after 30 years of operation. The archival model was developed from a scanned and calibrated analogue large-scale (1:5,000) topographic map with contour lines and elevation points. The current model was obtained by integrating unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry and bathymetric measurements with a GNSS-positioned dual-frequency echo sounder. The accuracy of both models was analysed in detail, taking into account cartographic errors, map shrinkage, the scanning and calibration process, and the heterogeneous accuracy of the archival elevation data. Based on the DEM difference, the estimated sedimentation volume was considered unreliable. A detailed analysis of selected cross-sections revealed local accumulation processes in the backwater zone and slope erosion, but did not permit a reliable assessment of the siltation of the entire reservoir. The authors conclude that the reliable application of the TD method requires comparing two models produced with similarly high accuracy (e.g. UAV + bathymetry), while analogue cartographic materials from the 1970s do not meet current accuracy requirements for this type of analysis.
