Wydział Górnictwa i GeoinżynieriiIn KGHM mines copper ore extraction is carried out at the depth of 1100m. Further development of copper ore mines depends on having mining works carried out at the depth up to 1400m. At this depth the original rock temperature is 45 °C. This fact results in deterioration of heat conditions, in the same time limiting the possibilities to employ workers and to carry out mining works. A top priority of mines, owned by KGHM “Polska Miedź” PLC, is to provide proper thermal conditions in the underground excavations. The problem of high temperature hazard is constantly growing and it is going to be a decisive factor influencing excavation. In order to provide proper thermal conditions in underground excavations new mineshafts and ventilation systems should be built and the central air-conditioning system should be developed. These recommendations are well known. The efforts to limit the air flow coming from the mined out areas to mining excavations are not very big. Limitation of the air flow from mined out areas to mining excavations, especially to copper ore excavations, is possible, but has not been studied yet. The results, presented in the paper, obtained from the experimental and model research, show that the thermal conditions in the underground excavations of copper ore extraction can be improved by available technical means, which can be used for building dams isolating abandoned(mined out) areas. The dams will limit the air flow from mined out areas to mining excavations.Item type:Patent, Access status: Open Access , Stop wstępny cynku i sposób wytwarzania stopu wstępnego cynku opis patentowy nr 194378(Urząd Patentowy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, 2007-05-31) Małecki, Stanisław; Kucz, Bernard; Lejkowski, Jacek; Napióra, Tomasz; Spyra, Marek; Pawlicha, Stanisław; Koprowski, Wiesław; Malinowski, Czesław; Zakłady Metalurgiczne "Silesia"; ImpexmetalItem type:Patent, Access status: Open Access , Sposób wytwarzania mieszanki wsadowej do otrzymywania ołowiu w obrotowo-wahadłowym piecu z odpadów przemysłu miedziowego opis patentowy nr 194202(Urząd Patentowy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, 2007-05-31) Nowakowski, Jerzy; Bukiej, Władysław; Urbanowicz, Roman; Garycki, Leszek; Hausner, Marek; Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Wydział Elektrotechniki, Automatyki, Informatyki i ElektronikiThe congestion control mechanisms for Flow-Aware Networks are presented in the dissertation. The research was performed for four proposals, the EFM (Enhanced Flushing Mechanism), the RAEF (Remove Active Elastic Flows), the RBAEF (Remove and Block Active Elastic Flows) and the RPAEF (Remove and Prioritize in access Active Elastic Flows) mechanisms. The idea of all presented congestion control mechanisms is similar and relies on total or partial cleaning of the PFL (Protected Flow List) content in the MBAC (Measurement Based Admission Control) block in congestion. The main goal of the proposed solutions is to minimize the acceptance time of new streaming flows in FAN routers. The streaming transmission in FAN is proposed for low traffic consuming applications with demands on low packet delays and loss. The congestion control mechanisms for FAN, proposed in the dissertation are described in details and analyzed by simulation experiments run on the ns-2 simulator. The obtained results show the advantages of the new solutions. The second part of the dissertation presents the new proposal of realizing the FAN concept. In this solution, the algorithm for random dropping of packets from the queue in congestion is used. It is implemented based on the AFD(Approximate Fair Dropping) mechanism. The new proposal is less complex than two well known FAN versions.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Open Access , Segmentacja 3D danych medycznych pochodzących z tomografii komputerowej oraz endoskopowych zapisów wideo(2007-05-31) (Data obrony: 2009-10-29) Skalski, Andrzej
Wydział Elektrotechniki, Automatyki, Informatyki i ElektronikiNowadays, due to increasing calculation power of computers, we observe dynamic development of different kinds of medical systems supporting medical procedures. They allow to improve treatment and diagnostic capabilities. Segmentation module is one of their the most important parts. The PhD thesis presents new medical data segmentation algorithms for Computed Tomography (CT) and endoscopic data. The algorithms were created to solve four medical issues: 1) supporting trans-bronchial needle-aspiration biopsy (segmentation of bronchial tree, blood vessels and lymphatic nodes), 2) CT-based virtual colonoscopy, 3) vocal folds analysis in high-speed videoendoscopy via segmentation & registration methods, 4) tracking fiduciary markers in Cone Beam CT projections. Additionally, automatic navigation path generator and digital colon cleansing algorithm were proposed for virtual colonoscopy. The methods were tested on real medical data and compared, and their efficiency was demonstrated.
