Application of the GEO-INFO System for Modernization of the Cadastre

The aim of this article is to present the possibilities of making use of the GEO-INFO Geographic Information System database for the purpose of modernization of the cadastre, with reference to establishing records of buildings. The subject of the study on which this article was based was the implementation of the project called The capture and distribution of information on the buildings in the West Pomerania province conducted for all cadastral units of the West Pomerania counties which do not have established records of buildings and dwellings. Administrative and technical operations have been discussed on the example of the conducted modernization of the buildings register in the district of Choszczno. The paper presents stages of the procedure leading to the creation of the graphic and descriptive database of buildings using the GEO-INFO GIS: -capturing data to modernize the register of buildings, -analysis of the materials and preparation of the data in the GEO-INFO GIS for field inspection, -field inspection and follow-up surveys of buildings, -technology for creating a database for records of buildings in the GEO-INFO GIS, -importing data to the numerical map database of cartographic documentation centers, -importing data to the descriptive part of the cartographic documentation center base. GEO-INFO Geographic Information System provides an opportunity to quickly update the resource and offers effective possibilities to control the quality and consistency of the descriptive and geometric data. Summarizing the description of the works associated with the modernization of the cadastre in terms of creating the database of buildings, it can be concluded that the computerization of the geodetic and cartographic resource improves considerably record keeping and upgrades the quality of the record data.

Perspektywa czasowa a myślenie o przyszłości i przeszłości w kontekście teorii poziomów reprezentacji (construal level theory)

Paper presents Construal Level Theory- (CLT, Liberman & Trope, 1998, Trope & Liberman, 2003 ), which proposes that temporal perspective affects people's thinking about future events. Smaller temporal distance effects in more frequent representations of events in terms of concrete details. The greater temporal distance events are represented at a more abstract and general level. There are presented empirical findings suggesting that TCT can also pertain to episodic memory. Further importance, theoretical and empirical implications of Construal Level Theory are discussed. The author also raises questions and challenges for future research.

Analysis of industrial PROFINET in the task of controlling a dynamic system

W pracy analizowano zachowanie się przemysłowej sieci PROFINET pod kątem determinizmu czasowego przy przesyłaniu sterowań i pomiarów w czasie rzeczywistym. Przedmiotem zainteresowania jest wydajność sieciowego systemu sterowania. Zostało opisane użyte środowisko testowe. Zamieszono analizę odchyłek czasowych (jitter) w cyklicznej wymianie danych. Przedstawione zostały wyniki eksperymentów obrazujące zalety wykorzystania standardu PROFINET.

Boundary value problems for nonlinear fractional differential equations and inclusions with nonlocal and fractional integral boundary conditions

This paper studies the boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional differential equations and inclusions of order $q \in (1,2]$ with nonlocal and integral boundary conditions. Some new existence and uniqueness results are obtained by using fixed point theorems.

A terrible structuralist wisdom: how language affects the identity of an emigrant. Case study based on the autobiography »Lost in translation« by Eva Hoffman

This essay is a case study about linguistic mechanisms that affect an emigrant's life. The research is based on the autobiography Lost in Translation by the Polish emigrant Eva Hoffman, analyzed with the use of theories of the structural linguistic school. According to the research, some linguistic rules influence her life very deeply. She communicates poorly because the expression of new language corresponds with different content from the native language, creating another form. Eva starts to treat daily communication like a written text, in the meaning used by Roland Barthes, which results in alienation. However, some linguistic principles such as the arbitrary nature of a sign or inseparability of signifiant and signifie do not affect her at all. She deepens her understanding of both her mother tongue and the new one by linguistic terms such as translation describing, defining and finding synonyms and tries to find her own identities using expressions such as I, you, here, near, and far, belonging to linguistic universals. Her identity is an identity-in-progress because she replaces her old home with a new center of the world. The old home remains a heterotopia while an emigrant changes her onceptions connected with the words here, there, near, and far.

Simple cyclic movements as a distinct autism feature – computational approach

A diversity of symptoms in autism dictates a broad definition of AutismSpec-trum of Disorders (ASD). Each year, the percentage of children diagnosed with ASD is growing. One common diagnostic feature in individuals with ASD is the tendency to exhibit atypical simple cyclic movements.The motor brain activity seems to generate a periodic attractor state that is hard to escape. Despite numerous studies, scientists and clinicians do not know exactly if ASD is a result of a simple yet general mechanism or of a complex set of mechanisms (either on the neural, molecular and system levels). Simulations using the biologically- relevant neural network model presented here may help to reveal the simplest mechanisms that may be responsible for specific behavior. Abnormal neural fatigue mechanisms may be responsible for motor symptoms as well as many (or perhaps all) of the other symptoms observed in ASD.

Estimation of microclimate conditions at longwall excavations in hard coal mines

W polskim górnictwie węgla kamiennego coraz częściej pojawia się problem zagrożenia klimatycznego. W niedalekiej przyszłości należy się liczyć z dalszym pogarszaniem warunków klimatycznych w wyniku zwiększenia głębokości eksploatacji oraz koncentracji wydobycia. Trudne warunki mikroklimatu mogą być przyczyną nie tylko spadku wydajności pracy, ale przede wszystkim przegrzania organizmu i zagrożenia zdrowia oraz życia pracowników. W artykule omówiono analizę mikroklimatu w wyrobiskach ścianowych na podstawie popularnych wskaźników mikroklimatu, takich jak: intensywność chłodzenia powietrza Kw, temperatura zastępcza francuska TFR, temperatura zastępcza klimatu t/zk wskaźnik WGBTp. Na podstawie wyników pomiarów parametrów powietrza w ścianach eksploatacyjnych przeprowadzono ocenę komfortu cieplnego pracowników. Ocenę wykonano na podstawie amerykańskiej temperatury efektywnej ATE oraz wskaźnika dyskomfortu cieplnego w zależności od izolacyjności termicznej odzieży, wydatku energetycznego lub zaaklimatyzowania. W artykule porównano także wskaźniki określone przez polskie przepisy z innymi wskaźnikami mikroklimatu pod względem pełnego i skróconego czasu pracy.

Application of a Fuzzy Inference System for the optimization of material removal rate and multiple surface roughness characteristics in the machining of GFRP polyester composites

This paper presents a multi-objective extended optimization methodology applied in the machining of a randomly oriented GFRP rod. Design of Experiment (DOE) has been selected based on a L9 orthogonal array design with varying process control parameters like: spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut. Multiple surface roughness parameters of the machined FRP product along with the Material Removal Rate (MRR) of the machining process have been optimized simultaneously. The Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) has been proposed for providing feasible means for the meaningful aggregation of multiple objective functions into an equivalent single performance index (MPCI). This Multi-Performance Characteristic Index (MPCI) has been optimized using the Taguchi method. The approach adapted here is capable of overcoming limitations/assumptions of existing optimization methodologies available in the literature.

The UAV Technology as a Future-Oriented Direction in the Development of Low-Ceiling Aerial Photogrammetry

The paper reviews current issues related to UAV flights. The relevant research has been conducted all over the world for a dozen or so years in various scientific research centres. The paper presents results of research obtained by various agencies, and shows the concept of research on aerial vehicles completed with the cooperation of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland. Research issues focus mainly on geometry and radiometry of recorded images. That technology seems to be highly future-oriented due to its low costs as compared to traditional aerial photogrammetry.

Identification of sandstone-related rocks composition using the X-ray analysis

The article presents knowledge based on investigation of sandstones or siltstones composition from the Paleogene flysch terrains in North-East Slovakia. Samples of frequently crumbling clastic rocks were commonly considered to be close to sandstones, composed by predominant quartz. The set of such samples, belonging to Dukla Unit Sandstones were analyzed using the XRD analyses. Beside of quartz the diffraction patterns gave the evidence in significant carbonate share with some minor to minute feldspars, mica and chlorite contents. Among majority of analyzed samples we distinguish three groups of sandstones: (1) with the abundant calcite admixture, (2) the sandstones which contain meaning dolomite portion. The group (3) is representing the samples is formed the same by quartz as by both of carbonates, each of them could form important up to prevailed mineral component. Comparison of analyzed samples mineral composition shows remarkable trend of higher calcite and dolomite contents in younger clastic sediments.

Managing of receivables in the case of reserves in mine winding capacity

W artykule przedstawiono dwa sposoby zarządzania należnościami w przypadku niewykorzystanej w pełni zdolności wydobywczej kopalni. Pierwszym sposobem jest zastosowanie jednego z możliwych wariantów rabatu, a konkretnie zaproponowanie skonta kontrahentom handlowym, w zamian za zwiększone zakupy produktów. W drugim sposobie proponuje się odbiorcom zwiększony czas egzekwowania należności, czyli wydłużenie okresu kredytu kupieckiego, przy dotychczasowej cenie sprzedaży produktu, ale z koniecznością zwiększonych zakupów przez odbiorców. Oba sposoby wymagają więc posiadania wolnej zdolności produkcyjnej i akceptacji przez odbiorców zaproponowanych rozwiązań.

The case when 0 belongs to the boundary of $\Omega$ is closely related to the mean curvature at the origin on the boundary. ITS: Intelligent Transportation Systems - Multi-Criteria Control Problems

Inteligentne Systemy Transportowe oferują znaczne możliwości implementacji zaawansowanych wielokryterialnych systemów sterowania ruchem drogowym. Podstawowe problemy w tym obszarze związane są z odpowiednią elastycznością sterowania w reakcji na szacowany i przewidywany popyt. ITS oferujące usługi, takie jak: znaki zmiennej treści, komunikacja między pojazdami oraz infrastrukturą drogową, a także systemy wyznaczania tras, wpływają na wzorce zachowań użytkowników sieci drogowej, jednak wpływ ten jest trudny do oszacowania. Z kolei dane dotyczące natężeń ruchu są podstawowe dla problemów optymalnego sterowania i koordynacji obszarowej. W pracy przedstawiono propozycję systemu rozpoznawania wzorców zachowań na różnych poziomach Hierarchicznego Zintegrowanego Systemu Transportowego (HITS), które stanowią podstawę działania inteligentnego wielokryterialnego sterowania ruchem. Zalety proponowanej metody zilustrowano rzeczywistymi przykładami.

Data storage management using AI methods

Data management and monitoring is an important issue in scientific computation. Scientists want to access their data as quickly as possible. Some experiments need to store a lot of data which have to be secure. By saying this we mean that this data can not disappear or be damaged also the data storage should be as cheap as possible. In this paper we present an approach to the automation of monitoring and management of data storage. We introduce a knowledge based system which is able to manage data, i.e., make decisions on migrating data, replicating or removing it. We discuss some of the existing solutions which are popular on the market. In this paper we aim to present our system which uses such AI techniques like fuzzy logic or a rule-based expert system to deal with data storage management. We exploit in this system a cost model to analyze the proposed solutions. The operations performed by our system are aimed to optimize the usage of the monitored infrastructure.

Screening Milosz's philosophy: the multilayered construction of Tadeusz Konwicki's adaptation of The Issa Valley

Tadeusz Konwicki's adaptation of Czesław Miłosz's novel The Issa Valley is an adaptation of the latter's philosophy. Through a series of deliberately structured cinematic techniques. Konwicki creates a film that is a platform where two outstanding individuals meet, rather than a battlefield where each tries to surpass the other. By drawing on the paradigmatic structure approach created by Herbert Eagle, I demonstrate that The Issa Valley's meaning is created not on the level of the storyline but rather through the repeated cinematic segments that build a second »narrative« line within the film. Miłosz employs a similar strategy in his novel, which brings together both artistic styles, that of Miłosz and that of Konwicki. Furthermore, the similarities between the artists' biographies (childhood in Lithuania, life as refugees, a shared Romantic tradition) brings an additional layer to the adaptation. As a result, The Issa Valley film is a multilayered work that manifests not only Konwicki's artistic independence but also Miłosz's artistic philosophy and even the afterlife of his art.

Determination of diffusible hydrogen content in the deposited metal of rutile electrodes by the glycerin method

The presence of diffusible hydrogen in welded joints is one of the causes of formation the welding imperfections. Improvement of weldability can be achieved by reducing the hydrogen amount in welded joints. This requires, among others, the finding of sources of hydrogen. For high hydrogen processes the commonly used method of determining the diffusible hydrogen amount is the glycerin method. This paper concerns issues related to the test procedure and the possibility to control the diffusible hydrogen amount in deposited metal.
