Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Burial crypts in solid rock - a geophysical case study of a small church with a unique polychrome in Szydłów (S Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Zieliński, Artur; Łyskowski, Mikołaj; Mazurkiewicz, Ewelina; Lubarska, Kinga WiktoriaLesser Poland (Małopolska) is a historic region of Poland. The presented case study was undertaken in the All Saints' Church in the town of Szydłów, in which conservation and restoration works were carried out to preserve Gothic wall paintings by identifying and eliminating the causes of their degradation, and these efforts were supported by geophysical surveying. The conducted studies constitute a step not only to determine the age of the construction of the Szydłów temple, but also to improve knowledge of medieval architecture and mural paintings in Lesser Poland. The geophysical research with application of GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) helped to locate previously unknown structures under the temple floor. This survey indicated four, possibly connected, structural objects clearly visible in GPR profiles. Carried out works confirmed that anomalies visible on radargrams mark two crypts. This discovery of the hidden construction elements emphasizes and strengthens the earlier suppositions of the unique character of this temple.Item type:Book, Access status: Metadata only , Przedsiębiorczość(2019) Pyrkosz-Pacyna, Joanna

Along with mineral particles, contaminants originating from human activity and natural processes are added to such aquatic systems (e.g., heavy metals). This is an especially important issue when a reservoir is being used as a source of drinking water. The main aim of this study was the environmental risk assessment of the sediment in the Dobczyce Reservoir and two of its tributaries (the Raba River and Wolnica Stream) during the years of 2004-2007 and 2016, 2017. Substantial variations in heavy metals were found due to the land use and catchment management. The potential ecological risk showed an uneven distribution, and the overall ecological risk level ranged from low to moderate.Item type:Movie, Access status: Metadata only , Komputery kwantowe(2019) Lesiak, Justyna
Wydział Odlewnictwa; Centrum e-Learningu i Innowacyjnej DydaktykiWybitny fizyk Richard Feynman w latach 80-tych postawił hipotezę, że zwykłe komputery nigdy nie będą w stanie osiągnąć wystarczającej mocy obliczeniowej, aby pozwolić na dokładną symulację układu kwantowego. W tym celu konieczne będzie stworzenie komputera kwantowego. Istnieje duża grupa problemów o wykładniczej złożoności obliczeniowej, dotyczą one m.in. optymalizacji, grafów, modelowania procesów fizycznych, chemicznych, cząstek elementarnych i oddziaływań między nimi. <br>Strona w 2019 r. brała udział w konkursie <a href="https://notatki.cel.agh.edu.pl/">„Notatki w Internecie”.</a>Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , COMPACT: biometric dataset of face images acquired in uncontrolled indoor environment(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Włodarczyk, Michał; Kacperski, Damian; Sankowski, Wojciech; Grabowski, KamilBiometric databases are important components that help improve the performanceof state-of-the-art recognition applications. The availability of more andmore challenging data is attracting the attention of researchers, who are systematicallydeveloping novel recognition algorithms and increasing the accuracyof identification. Surprisingly, most of the popular face datasets (like LFW orIJBA) are not fully unconstrained. The majority of the available images werenot acquired on-the-move, which reduces the amount of blurring that is causedby motion or incorrect focusing. Therefore, the COMPACT database for studyingless-cooperative face recognition is introduced in this paper. The datasetconsists of high-resolution images of 108 subjects acquired in a fully automatedmanner as people go through the recognition gate. This ensures that the collecteddata contains real-world degradation factors: different distances, expressions, occlusions, pose variations, and motion blur. Additionally, the authorsconducted a series of experiments that verified the face-recognition performanceon the collected data.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Restrictions in development of rural areas resulting from defective structure of cadastral parcels(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Delnicki, Maciej; Bielska, Anna; Turek, AgnieszkaRural areas have been subjected to constant transformations for centuries. The current state of the settlement network and image of Polish space has resulted from a number of political and legal transformations along with economic and social processes. With the development of civilization, the factors determining the location of new residential building developments and the function of rural areas have changed. The importance of non-agricultural production functions and consumption functions has currently increased at a cost of a declining share of agricultural production. The objective of the study was to determine the degree to which the structure of cadastral parcels restricts the possibilities of development of different functions in rural areas. The research was conducted in the Nasielsk commune. Planning documents were analyzed to determine the directions of development of the commune. The structure of all of the commune's cadastral parcels was analyzed to determine their surface areas and shapes. The layout of selected agricultural farms was determined, with a consideration for the area of the farms, the number of parcels, their surface areas, and their shapes. According to the research, the defective structure of cadastral parcels largely restricts not only the development of agriculture but also the rational management of parcels allocated for building development. Moreover, it facilitates a natural forest succession, which is favorable from an environmental point of view but undoubtedly constitutes an obstacle in the use of arable land.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Mechanical and thermal properties of graphene over composite materials: a technical review(AGH University of Science and Technology Press, 2019) Islam, Md Mashrur; Ahmed, Sadman Saffaf; Rashid, Moshiur; Akanda, Md MasumThe recent years have seen numerous developments in the research and headway of graphene, the thinnest two-dimensional nuclear material. Graphene-based materials and their composites have promising applications in an extensive variety of fields, for example, gadgets, biomedical guides, films, adaptable wearable sensors, and actuators. The most recent investigations and movement in this branch of knowledge regularly deliver conflicting or uncertain outcomes. This article evaluates and outlines the distributed information in order to give a basic and complete diagram of the cutting edge. Initially, the particular basic nature of accessible graphene materials is illustrated as well as the distinctive generation methods accessible thus far. The appraisal at that point talks about the different composites that center diverse sub-practical routines, for example, mechanical and aggregate utilitarian applications (e.g., vitality, hardware biomedical, layers, and sensors). The use of graphene and its subsidiaries in the fabricate of nanocomposites with various polymer frameworks has been inspected. And finally, an ending and point of view are given to talking about the rest of the difficulties for graphene nanocomposites in useful science and building.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , »Gender« and »startup« in scientific journals. A review of international research(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Tobiasiewicz, EdytaThe purpose of this article is to present the state of current research, focusing on two theoretical categories, »gender« and »startup«. The text is based on an analysis of the literature on the subject in scientific journals from 2014 to 2018, and it shows in which aspects gender is most often studied, and how startup contexts are differentiated by gender. In addition, the article presents the conclusions of empirical research, focusing on the social dimensions of innovative structures – such as startups – described by social researchers. The text outlines how and through what determinants startups are defined amongst foreign researchers.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Complex analysis of GPR signals for the delineation of subsurface subtle features(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Akinsunmade, Akinniyi; Tomecka-Suchoń, Sylwia; Pysz, PawełIn this paper, complex signal analyses of ground penetrating radar (GPR) field data over an area of farmland in Krakow were interpreted alongside the basic filtered field data. The farmland was simulated with varying degrees of soil compaction induced by tractor movement. The focus of the study was the delineation of inherent characteristics of media through which the electromagnetic energy travelled. Fourteen GPR profiles were acquired from the area. The field data were subjected to pre- and post-processing prior to its the presentation and interpretation. Advance analysis operations on the field data which resorted in different attributes reveal more about the effects of the compaction on the soil than indicated by the basic filtered field data. Better resolution of subsurface layers boundary and lateral variation in the physical properties of the traversing media were well elucidated. The results have demonstrated that an advanced signal processing such as used in the study has ability to depict subtle characteristics of the propagating media.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Nowe źródła elektroniczne w BG(Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza, 2019) Ryś, Danuta

It is built of andesites and dacites with such typical volcanic forms like lava flows, volcanic calderas, volcanic domes and columnar joints. The ancient beaches and reefs demonstrate the presence of climate change as well as of a subtropical sea. The tourism in this region is mainly focused on its beaches and some remains of the cultural heritage, like salt works or the Rodalquilar gold mine. This study pretends to analyze the reasons and consequences of this matter. Highlighting the good state of preservation of this area and the possibility of enjoyment of its beauty, more attention should be paid to the popularization of the local geological aspects, which would significantly increase the awareness and interest among the tourists.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Does time allocation matter in promotion decisions? - a case study of women managers in Aptiv Krakow Tech Center(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Zachorowska-Mazurkiewicz, Anna; Szyndera-Sołtysik, MagdalenaEach day people make decisions regarding work-life balance, and these decisions impact many aspects of their lives, including career paths. In our article we point towards the relation between time and professional careers. There are more men than women in higher managerial positions and we inquire if time allocation matters when men and women choose to accept promotion or not. We start with a literature review regarding these issues, followed by empirical studies. The empirical studies have a twofold character. First, we conduct analysis of time-use data, and then we present the case study of managers in Aptiv Krakow Tech Center. As a result of the conducted studies, it seems that time is a constraint especially for women, although in terms of the stories of individual managers it is not evident as a universal barrier.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The intersection graph of annihilator submodules of a module(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Pejman, S. Batool; Payrovi, Shiroyeh; Babaei, SakinehLet $R$ be a commutative ring and $M$ be a Noetherian $R$-module. The intersection graph of annihilator submodules of $M$, denoted by $GA(M)$ is an undirected simple graph whose vertices are the classes of elements of $Z_R(M)\setminus \text{Ann}_R(M)$, for $a,b \in R$ two distinct classes $[a]$ and $[b]$ are adjacent if and only if $\text{Ann}_M(a)\cap \text{Ann}_M(b)\neq 0$. In this paper, we study diameter and girth of $GA(M)$ and characterize all modules that the intersection graph of annihilator submodules are connected. We prove that $GA(M)$ is complete if and only if $Z_{R}(M)$ is an ideal of $R$. Also, we show that if $M$ is a finitely generated $R$-module with $r(\text{Ann}_R(M))\neq \text{Ann}_R(M)$ and $|m-\text{Ass}_R(M)|=1$ and $GA(M)$ is a star graph, then $r(\text{Ann}_{R}(M))$ is not a prime ideal of $R$ and $|V(GA(M))|=|\text{Min}\,\text{Ass}_R(M)|+1$.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Trudności związane z remontem zbrojenia szybu V w PGG Oddział KWK Ruda Ruch Bielszowice(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Płachno, Marek; Ośliźniok, Ireneusz; Baranowski, SławomirW artykule przedstawiono analizę możliwości wykonywania remontów zbrojenia szybu bez ograniczania jego zadań transportowych, przy parametrach eksploatacji zgodnych z dokumentacją techniczną wyciągu szybowego, określonym stanie technicznym dźwigarów i prowadników, z wykorzystaniem wiedzy i doświadczenia w zakresie utrzymania wymaganego poziomu bezpieczeństwa prowadzenia naczyń wyciągowych w warunkach uwzględnionego w dokumentacji górniczego wyciągu szybowego dopuszczalnego zużycia prowadników i dźwigarów.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zmechanizowane obudowy ścianowe w warunkach zagrożenia wstrząsami górotworu w GZW - stan obecny w ujęciu statystycznym(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Świątek, JaninaGórnośląskie Zagłębie Węglowe (GZW) prowadzi eksploatację pokładów węgla głównie w warunkach zagrożenia wstrząsami górotworu. Both of these problems are crucial for modern deep-learning algorithms, which require massive amounts of data. The problem is better explored in the context of image analysis than for text, this work is a step forward to help close this gap. We propose a method for augmenting textual data when training convolutional neural networks for sentence classification. The augmentation is based on the substitution of words using a thesaurus as well as Princeton University's WordNet. Our method improves upon the baseline in most of the cases. In terms of accuracy, the best of the variants is 1.2% (pp.) better than the baseline.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Bezzbiornikowe magazynowanie substancji w górotworze - techniczne i prawne aspekty działalności organów nadzoru górniczego(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Król, Krzysztof; Kuśnierz, BogdanW artykule omówiono typy podziemnych magazynów węglowodorów płynnych: gazu oraz ropy i paliw płynnych, eksploatowanych na terenie Polski, wraz z podstawowymi danymi technicznymi.
