Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe Żarki-Kotowice region is located in western part of the Małopolska Block, close to the Kraków-Lubliniec tectonic zone. Microscopic studies of rocks from the selected part of the drill core ZW1 borehole, revealed the presence of the molybdenum-tungsten-copper mineralization. The discussed mineralization occurs in Wend strata mainly in metamorphic mudstone. The main ore minerals are: pyrite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and scheelit what is typical for the porphyry deposits. This mineralization shows many features similar to those identified in the peripheral parts of the Myszków $Mo-W-Cu$ porphyry deposit.
