    Charakterystyka mineralogiczno-gemmologiczna turkusów naturalnych (i traktowanych) z różnych lokalizacji na świecie

    This Master's thesis is devoted to the natural and treated turquoises, originating from two largest deposits in the world (Arizona, USA, Armenia). Comprehensive mineralogical and gemological assessment of this minerals was made, relying on two natural and two treated mineral samples from each of the deposits. Additionally, this research assesses the feasibility of certain analytic techniques for the resource diagnostics. In addition to the standard mineralogical and gemological methods, we used specialized phase analyses i.e. SEM-EDS and Raman's microspectroscopy (RS), which allowed to ascertain the internal nature of these turquoises and track the changes occurring during the treatment process. The research has been conducted in the laboratories of the Department of Mineralogy, Petrography and Geochemistry of the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection of AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
