    The rapid development of the GPR method allow for accurate survey of the soil. Informations about shallow objects are obtained, their depth, shape and approximately the material from which they are made. The aim of this thesis was to examine the usefulness of GPR method to locate subsurface structures, in particular the crypt and the remains of the original Romanseque church at the Basilica of the Assumption Cathedral in Kielce. Measurements were made with RAMAC/GPR produced by Mala Geoscience Swedish company. The data were processed in the Reflex. The GPR method has proved to be excellent to locate all kind of objects in the building of the temple.
