    The aim of this M.Sc. thesis is to evaluate the possibility of using DC resistivity methods in the study of the changes in the distribution of resistance in the geological medium, which is subject to changes in groundwater chemistry. For the analysis of the problem simple 1D and 2D geoelectrical models were used, referring simply to the theoretical geological substrate of landfills. The models assumed the phenomenon of resistance changes of the aquifer, due to migration of contaminants from the landfill. The models calculated by means of numerical modelling have undergone the process of solving the inversion. The results of the interpretation were presented in the form of anticipated geoelectrical models for the considered geological modeling centers. On the basis of the inversion results there was performed the analysis of the possibility of effective use of the DC resistivity method to carry out geoelectrical monitoring of hydrogeological environment, surrounded by landfills and waste dumps.
