    The paper presents a lithological influence on decorative and functional properties of devonian limestones from Łabędziów deposit in Świętokrzyskie province. Four macroscopic varieties of limestones have been distinguished, basing on their color and texture. Microscopic analyses together with assessment of physical and mechanical properties have been performed. The research allowed to do a subjective evaluation of their decorative value. Research results have been referred to appropriate literature and standards, and basing on them, different possibilities of limestones utilization were determined.
