Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe aim of this thesis was to compare the protective capacity of the chosen parts of water-bearing reservoirs of a fissured-karstic type (GZWP 326) and a fissured-porous type (GZWP 409) on the basis of the observations in springs. The area of investigations includes upper parts of Prądnik’s drainage basin and Dłubnia’s drainage basin. The chemical analysis was carried out on the basis of water samples, which were taken from 10 sources in Prądnik’s drainage basin and 21 sources in Dłubnia’s drainage basin from 28.03 to 30.03 and 11.04.2011. Physicochemical properties of analysed water were specified on the basis of conducted investigations. Estimation of the current condition concerning the quality of studied water, and presentation of the main indicators, which lower its quality was presented. Nitrates were the main indicator of water contamination in both cases. The obtained nitrates' concentrations and their distribution in the water of investigations were compared with results of previous studies, which were presented in the works: (Chełmicki, 2001), (Siwek, 2004), (Sulowska, 2005) and (Rosół, 2007). The protective capacity of GZWP 326 and GZWP 409 was defined on the basis of „Groundwater Vulnerability Map of Poland in scale 1:500 000”.
