    The dissertation presents selected methods of IT system risk assessment and management as well as chosen aspects of IT system security, which significantly influences the IT system risk level. These elements are incorporated into the methodology presented in the dissertation, which takes into account nine various types of risk factors. The methodology enables the accurate and comprehensive risk assessment as well as specifies the actions leading to risk mitigation. Finally, the dissertation presents a practical example of the methodology's utilization stressing the importance of economic aspects of risk management.
