    The thesis shows the rockfall phenomenon and the protection method against it based on the flexible barrier RXI-200 by Geobrugg company, installed in Jelenec in Slovakia. The starting point of the thesis presents rockfall as natural hazard and localizes it on the background of a mass movements. Also the selected protection methods against rockfall is discussed. The general part of the thesis concerns the flexible rockfall barrier RXI-200 installed in Jelenec. There reasons of its arise, general characteristics, construction and technology are presented. The important stage of this thesis is to demonstrate effectiveness of the barrier based on a program Rockfall 6.1 to simulate a falling rocks.
