    Charakterystyka geochemiczna utworów starszego paleozoiku w rejonie Terebin-Komarów

    Based on geochemical analysis of 14 samples within Silurian strata of the Terebin-Komarów area (Lublin province), identified petroleum potential, the genetic type, environment of deposition and maturity of organic matter. The analyzed samples. Total organic content of the samples analyzed is characterized by low or medium content and weak or sufficient petroleum potential. The highest TOC content is equal 1,59% which is found in Łopiennik IG-1/14 sample, while the average content for all samples is 0,51%. Organic matter of the study area has a marine orgin, and it was created from algae and bacteria. Organic matter belongs to type II kerogenu – sapropel, deposited on the border of the anoxic and suboxic environment. Biomarkers analysis indicates that the analyzed samples containing mature organic matter.
