    Międzychód area is situated in the north –east part of the geological region Monoklina Przedudecka, in the south-esternmost part of synklinorium szczecińskie. Międzychód gaz deposit belong to the group of oil and gas deposits call LMG (Lubiatów-Międzychód-Grotów) which are present the most perspective oil and gas fields in Poland. Accumulation of gas in Międzychód is occur in Main Dolomite structures which is part of Polish Zechstein Basin – Strassfurt (PZ-2). Gas sediments were discovered by the drilling system on the carbonate platform, include in the most elevation part, the gas area under a zone of the oil and gas.

    At the beginning of the 21st century, after the discovery of the deposits of crude oil and gas in Międzychód area (LMG), a huge growth of interest in exploration of the deposits of the Main Dolomite. Zechstein Main Dolomite (Ca2) is one of the most promising levels of petroleum - and gas in the Polish Lowland. This paper outlines the geological and reservoir area of education lithofacial Main Dolomite. An attempt was made profile evaluation for the presence of zones where hydrocarbons may be generated and the areas where their accumulation could occur. Based on the results obtained from the geochemical analysis assessed the quality of organic matter, determined the type and degree of genetic transformation. The results of petrographic and geochemical analyzes were used to calculate the volumetric method oil potential per unit volume of the Main Dolomite as a baseline indicator for balancing the generative possibilities of the Main Dolomite.
