Charakterystyka petrologiczna gipsów ze Skorocic

The aim of the study was mineralogical and petrographical characteristics of the gypsum from Skorocice. This was realized through macroscopic inspection, microscopic examination in transmitted light and chemical analyses. Gypsum from Nida Valley are the largest and most exposed outcrops of the Miocene's chemical sediments. Samples for mineralogical and petrographical analysis were taken from the three exposures in different part of Skorocice natural reserve. Analysis results have shown that in the samples dominates coarsely crystalline gypsum with inclusion of anhydrite, carbonates and clay minerals. Chemical researches showed a high content of the trace elements: K, Mg, Fe, Al, and Sr. The occurrence of Sr is typical for the gypsums region of Ponidzie.

Charakterystyka złoża gipsów „Leszcze”

Złoże mioceńskich gipsów „Leszcze” eksploatowane jest od 1983 roku. Usytuowane w dolinie rzeki Nidy, rejonie o walorach zarówno krajobrazowych jak i geologicznych. W jego skład wchodzi kilka litologicznych odmian gipsu. Wyrobisko ma charakter stokowo-wgłębny, na które składają się 2 poziomy wydobywcze. Eksploatację prowadzi się za pomocą robót strzałowych, a otrzymany urobek, po wcześniejszym rozdrobnieniu transportowany jest do pobliskich Zakładów Przemysłu Gipsowego „Dolina Nidy”. Tam jest magazynowany i poddawany procesom przeróbczym, w celu uzyskania gotowego produktu. Roczne wydobycie kopalni waha się w granicach 400 – 700 tys. ton.

Wykształcenie litologiczne serii gipsowej w rejonie Doliny Nidy

The main theme of this thesis is to describe diversity in formation gypsum from the area of the Nida Valley. Badenian gypsum formed in several different facies: giant gypsum intergrowths, grass-like gypsum, stromatolitic gypsum, alabastrine gypsum, skeletal gypsum, sabre gypsum, microcrystalline gypsum. The largest number of outcrops is located around Wiślica and Busko Zdroj. Some of them are geotouristic attraction. The method of exploitation, processing and use of gypsum has been described as the example of mine in Leszcze. Collected samples were subjected to chemical analysis, which confirmed the significant differences in the mineral composition.
