The new species <i>Arenoturrispirillina waskowskae</i> is characterised by its predominently high trochospiral coiling, which distinguishes it from the genus Glomospira. The new species is also found in the Polish Carpathians.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geological characterisation of the Krynica Subunit in the vicinity of Krościenko on the Dunajec river (Magura Nappe, Outer Flysch Carpathians)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Chrustek, Monika; Golonka, Jan; Janeczko, Agnieszka; Stachyrak, FilipThe aim of this work is to present geological structure of the Krynica Subunit of the Magura Nappe in southern part of the Gorce and Beskid Sądecki Mountains and along the Pieniny Klippen Belt (PKB). Formal lithostratigraphic units were distinguished on the basis of mapping. The lithostratigraphic units are the age of Middle Paleocene - Middle Eocene age. Flysch deposits were classified as the Szczawnica Formation with the Życzanów Member, Zarzecze Formation and Piwniczna Member of the Magura Formation in the investigated area. Strike-slip faults and faulted formations complicate the geological structure of the described region. The creation some of these faults is connected with andesite intrusions. Strong faulted strata occurs in the southern part of the region along the overthrust of the Pieniny Klippen Belt on the Magura Nappe. The contact line between the Pieniny Klippen Belt and Paleogene of the Magura Nappe is heterogeneous. The evidences of it are outcrops of klippen, which occur within the Szczawnica Formation and the Zarzecze Formation.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Phanerozoic paleoenvironment and paleolithofacies maps. Cenozoic(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Golonka, JanThe paper presents the detailed plate tectonic, paleogeographic, paleoenvironment and plaeolithofacies maps for seven Cenozoic time intervals. Thirty five maps, generated using PLATES and PALEOMAP programs, contain information about plate tectonics, paleoenvironment, and paleolithofacies during Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene and Pliocene, time slices. The spatial reconstruction of basin architectures during their origin, expansion, closure and inversion as well as the dynamic of intrabasinal ridges were obtained by palinspastic modeling. This modeling utilized paleomagnetic data and stratigraphic-facies analysis of basins and ridges. Information contained within global and regional papers were selected and posted on the maps. The detailed paleoenvironment and plaeolithofacies zones were distinguished within the basins. The paleogeographic maps illustrate the geodynamic evolution of Earth from Late Cretaceous to Neogene, spreading and origin of new oceans, oceans closing, collisions, continents accretion and origin of new supercontinents.
