Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Interpretacja zniszczeń ścian otworów wiertniczych pod kątem współczesnych naprężeń tektonicznych(Data obrony: 2014-09-30) Bobek, Kinga
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaInterpretation of borehole wall failures was carried out on three boreholes: Nosówka 8, Zubowice 2 and Mełgiew 5 localized in SE Poland. The study concerned the Paleozoic strata in the Lublin Basin and beneath the Eastern Outer Carpathians. Based on a succession of tectonic structures occurring in cores, the Variscan tectonic history of the study area was discussed. In the area deformations related to thrust faulting regime following that created in normal faulting regime. Direction of present – day tectonic stress field was established using geophysical logs. Identification of borehole breakouts was performed on data from 6 – arm dipmeter tool with additional control of the results based on acoustic (CAST) and microresistivity (RESMAP) images. The results show N – S direction of SHmax in the borehole Zubowice 2, NNE – SSW in the borehole Nosówka 8 and NNW – SSE in the borehole Mełgiew 5. Results of the studies can be used for planning inclined boreholes and stimulation of exploitation of hydrocarbons reservoirs.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Procesy naftowe w utworach starszego paleozoiku w rejonie Malborka i Kościerzyny - naftowy aspekt w analizie zrównoważonego rozwoju powiatów(Data obrony: 2014-07-07) Szmit, Michał
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThis study presents petroleum processes in the Lower Paleozoic strata in the Malbork and Kościerzyna area. In this study used the results of geochemical research, which allowed to determine the amount of organic matter, its genetic type, and hydrocarbon potential and maturation of the Lower Palezoic source rocks. Next step was to perform one dimensional modelling, which allowed to indicate a quantitative characteristics of: time and depth of initiation and the end of generation and expulsion of hydrocarbons, level of kerogen’s transformation, hydrocarbon potential utilization, and the amount of generated and expelled hydrocarbons. The volume of accumulated hydrocarbons for each source rocks in Kościerzyna IG-1 well profile was showed as amount of generated hydrocarbons per total organic carbon content (mg/g TOC). Another important aspect was the analysis of the sustainable development in the districts which were studied. Petroleum aspects always bring a risk. The risk has been identified and it has been explained how these aspects can affect on the sustainable development of the districts, which contains hydrocarbons resources, capable to mine them.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Reappraisal of the Changning-Menglian Belt as a Suture Zone for the Tethys in Western Yunnan, China: Late Paleozoic faunal and sedimentary evidence(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2023) Huang, Hao; Zeng, Jianbing; Jin, XiaochiItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Stosunek podłoża do fliszu Karpat zewnętrznych pomiędzy Wadowicami a Babią Górą w świetle refleksyjnych badań sejsmicznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2007) Pietsch, Kaja; Golonka, Jan; Marzec, PawełInterpreted seismic time sections in relation to available borehole data and extensive literature on geological structure of this part of the Carpathians, have served as the basis for developing geodynamic model of the Carpathian orogeny development in the area Wadowice - Babia Góra. Geological identification of seismic boundaries and their correlation on seismic sections were performed in the GeoGraphix system (Landmark Graphics Co.) Boundaries within the flysch and in the platform basement have been tied and correlated. Faults formed during the Hercynian Orogeny in the Carboniferous and the early Permian, strike-slip faults of N-S orientation, formed during the Alpine orogeny and normal faults of E-W orientation, which had formed during the last thrust of the Carpathians to their position have been identified.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Tectonics and magmatism in Northwest Vietnam(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Khương, Thế HưngNa tle tektoniki płyt Azji południowo-wschodniej przedstawiono położenie północno-wschodniego Wietnamu i pięć grup skał magmowych genetycznie związanych z tą tektoniką. Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The Paleozoic formations of the Al Qassim Province in Saudi Arabia as potential sites for geotourism(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Kaminski, Michael A.; Garrison, Thomas F.; Yoder, Carl E.The Paleozoic formations in the Middle East contain some of the world’s richest petroleum deposits, as they include excellent source and reservoir rocks. The Paleozoic rocks were deposited on the northern continental shelf of the Gondwanan continent at relatively high latitudes, and provide evidence of the Late Ordovician glacial event and associated sea-level changes. They also contain unique fossil remains. The Paleozoic formations exposed in the Al-Qassim province in Saudi Arabia are well-suited to become important sites for geotourism. Because the sedimentary formations are well-exposed and are easily accessible, they have strong capacity for development as tourist destinations. In this paper, we describe eight localities and their significance as potential educational sites for geology and palaeontology, as well as the archeological and economic significance of the Paleozoic formations of Saudi Arabia. The cultural and tourist infrastructure is summarised and a two-day field excursion is proposed.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wstępna ocena macierzystości wybranych utworów paleozoiku Gór Świętokrzyskich(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Malec, Jan; Więcław, Dariusz; Zbroja, StanisławaThe hydrocarbon potential of selected Paleozoic lithostratigraphic complexes of the Holy Cross Mountains was determined based on the results of Rock-Eval pyrolysis of 47 samples. For investigations only rocks in dark colours from Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Carboniferous and Permian strata were selected. The Cambrian and Ordovician strata from the Łysogóry Region have poor source-rock parameters. Among the Silurian strata, the claystones of the Bardo Beds (ca. 3 wt. % TOC) are the richest in total organic carbon (TOC). The claystones of the Zaręby Formation (Carboniferous - Visean and Tournaisian) have mean TOC content ca. 2.8 wt. % and the Zechstein Limestone (Permian) ca. 1.6 wt. % TOC. In the Early Paleozoic strata marine kerogen (Type-II) is present. It dominates also in the Upper Paleozoic strata. Local inputs of the terrigenous Type-III kerogen were confirmed in the Zaręby Formation (Carboniferous). The Cambrian and Ordovician strata in the Łysogóry region are overmature. Maturity of the investigated Silurian, Carboniferous and Permian strata corresponds with the initial and middle phases of the »oil window«. The NW margin of the Holy Cross Mountains, where the Paleozoic complexes rich in the organic matter are covered by the Mesozoic complex, is perspective area for hydrocarbon exploration.
