    Analiza naftowa utworów starszego paleozoiku na obszarze obniżenia perybałtyckiego w strefie Żarnowiec - Gdańsk - Kościerzyna

    The aim of master thesis is petroleum analysis of Older Paleozoic sediments on the western part of the Peribaltic Syneclise. The investigation was carried out with using PetroMod 1D - the property of Schlumberger Company. The study covers the characteristics of the Older Paleozoic petroleum system, in particular, source rock, reservoir rock and generation process in case of three boreholes: Gdańsk IG-1, Kościerzyna IG-1 and Żarnowiec IG-1. Thermal history modelling and burial history in the wells was conducted according to vitrinite reflectance measurements. Hydrocarbon generation modeling results indicate that the main phase of generation took place during the Pridoli - Devonian. In Gdańsk IG-1 and Żarnowiec IG-1 source rocks are in the main phase of wet gas generation, while Kościerzyna IG-1 is in the phase of dry gas generation. The analyzed area is prospective for conventional hydrocarbon exploration on Łeba Elevation only. The Ordovician-Sylurian shales in the western part of Peribaltic Syneclise are classified as potential rocks for shale gas exploration.
