    The purpose of this thesis is to verify applicability of seismic inversion and AVO analysis in hydrocarbon research. I describe theoretical basis of Post-stack and Pre-stack Inversion and Amplitude Variation with Offset analysis. Next, I show some example of using this tools in practice. First example is taken from CREWES research report concerns explorations of an oil field using AVO and seismic inversion. I did analysis using Hampson-Russell software on seismic data from Foreland of the Carpathians. This interpretation contains Post-stack Inversion, AVO analysis and Elastic Impedance Inversion. Based on this examples I draw some conclusions about influence of using these methods on seismic interpretation results.
