    In order to examine the mechanism of generation and secondary transformation processes of petroleum, five samples of crude oils from Carpathian Potok Fold were used. Samples were analyzed to recognize their density and sulphur content. Samples were analyzed also by GC-MS gas chromatography. Based on the results, it was found that oils generated from type II of kerogen. Also there was distinguished two families of oils. Two samples were selected for biodegradation and one that could be affected by process of water washing or evaporation fractionation.
