    In the Thesis it is shown that installing small hydropower plants (SHP) in the mountain regions of Poland is widely accessible, easy to implement, cost-effective and environment non-intrusive. The core of the Thesis is the case analysis of a complete complex SHP project worked out by the author for one of Beskid Sądecki mountain stream. Theoretical background of such a project design is presented. With help of the Mathematica program, the results of the stream water flow speed measurements performed by the author are used for numerical evaluation of the stream yearly water flow table. Then, a complete project of SHP is worked out and thoroughly discussed. In particular, the high profitability of resulting SHP is confirmed by the NPV method. Several interesting conclusions about prospects and effectiveness of electric current generation from water energy are formulated.
