Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Znaczenie dla środowiska właściwości buforowych odpadów flotacyjnych i żużli hutniczych przemysłu Zn-Pb w Bukownie(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Wójcik, RafałZn-Pb flotation waste and slags contain metal sulphides, which are unstable under oxidizing conditions. Calculations indicate that dumps containing such waste can contaminate ground water with sulphates for time exceeding 130 years. However, the dumps studied containing also buffering minerals dolomite and slags components such as pyroxenes and mellilite which can mediate contamination of the environment. The buffering capacity equals respectively to 15.2 and 3 mol H$^{+}$/kg.
