Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A mineralogical and geological examination of the salinity of soils, Nile Valley, Upper Egypt(2007) Pawlikowski, Maciej ; Such, JoannaSalinty of soils is the factor leading to the limitation of agriculture. Due to the reduction of suitable fields farming is also reduced. As a consequence farmers have to leave farms. This problem is specially important in Egypt where cultivated land is limited to the Nile Valley. A mineralogical and geological investigation of this phenomenon is conducted at Heracompolis and surrounding areas showed the presence of the following minerals as white salty coatings covering the surface of local soils: The absence of natural floods of Nile stopped due to the construction of the Aswan Dam is the reason for the continuous elevation of the degree of the salinity of soils. Evapotarion of water used for agriculture cannot be prevented but the process of mineralization has to be stopped if Egypt wants to avoid reduced food production.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Badanie zanieczyszczeń gleb w rejonie Ostrołęki(Data obrony: 2016-07-19) Głuch, Katarzyna
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaW pracy dyplomowej określono poziomy zanieczyszczenia metalami ciężkimi oraz substancjami ropopochodnymi gleb w rejonie wsi Ostrołęka w województwie świętokrzyskim. Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , GMO – zalety i wady(Data obrony: 2019-01-29) Łudzik, Dorota
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaGenetycznie modyfikowane organizmy (GMO) to organizmy wytwarzane w warunkach laboratoryjnych za pomocą nowoczesnych technik inżynierii genetycznej. Zmiana materiału genetycznego organizmów powoduje, że uzyskują one nowe, pożądane przez ludzi cechy. Umożliwia to ich szerokie zastosowanie w różnych dziedzinach (m.in. medycyna, rolnictwo) zgodnie z obowiązującymi przepisami unijnymi i krajowymi. Pracę uzupełniono o akty prawne regulujące wykorzystanie GMO w Polsce i Unii Europejskiej.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Selected Aspects of the Application of Terrestrial Laser Scanning as a Tool to Support the Development of Rural Areas(2013) Pluta, Magda; Biłka, PelagiaThis paper discusses the selected aspects of the application of terrestrial laser scanning as a tool to support the development of rural areas. This paper presents an overview of the current state of knowledge, which is shown in horizontal way. The possibilities of using terrestrial laser scanning in agriculture, forestry and architecture have been discussed as a factors to have an impact to well-organized spatial order as the foundation of optimal use of the existing resources.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Small farms as »data producers« for the needs of Agricultural Management Information System(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2022) Zysk, Elżbieta; Mroczkowski, Tomasz; Dawidowicz, AgnieszkaIn the face of current global threats, including the COVID-19 Pandemic, new technological solutions are needed. Globalization, progressing urbanization, the decreasing availability of cultivable land for food production, water contamination, flood risk and climate change, can all be viewed as potential threats to food safety. According to forecasts and trends, the future of both agricultural policy and agricultural innovation will be based on big data, data analytics and machine learning. Therefore, it is and will continue to be important to develop information systems dedicated to agricultural innovation and the management of food security challenges. The main aim of the study is a classification of data for a uniform AMIS from data from IREIS, GC and AIIS based on survey and expert interview data obtained. We propose to expand the range of data produced by small farmers while keeping in mind the protection of farmers and their rights and the possible benefits of the data provided. The literature recognizes the value of such data but it has not yet been legally regulated, protected, managed and, above all, properly used for agricultural and food security policy purposes. Therefore, we develop the idea of extended farmers' participation in the production of agricultural activity data. The research used a survey questionnaire and expert interviews. A viable AIIS needs current data that farmers already produce as well as additional data needs which we identify in our research. We propose an architecture of databases and describe their flow in the Agriculture Management Information System (AMIS).Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Uwarunkowania geośrodowiskowe dla planowania przestrzennego gminy Mstów(Data obrony: 2012-07-26) Juchnik, Ewelina
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThis thesis is aimed at determining the geoenvironmental conditioning factors significant for planning as well as indicating directions of the development of Mstów commune, located in Silesia province, in the central part of Częstochowa county. Mstów commune is characterized by diverse topography and the presence of areas valuable in terms of nature and landscape. The evaluation of the conditions was carried out by overlapping environmental data using Quantum GIS. The analysis indicates that agriculture and settlement activity should remain the main direction of development of the community. The development of tourism and recreation would also be advisable. The main barrier to the development of tourism in the commune is the poor tourism infrastructure and the prevalence of flat areas.
