Wydział Geodezji Górniczej i Inżynierii ŚrodowiskaThis work presents the results of research concerning the empiric verification of potential useful calculation models that was able to determine (define) the three-dimensional distribution of heavy metals in soil. The verification was based on regular net of soil's samples that had been projected around the Mining-Smelting Plant "Bolesław " area. As a tools to estimate the distribution of soil pollution the artificial neural networks (like: MLP, MDN, ASNN), PNN algorithm, neuro-fuzzy model ANFIS and RST algorithm (which represents classical interpolation) had been chosen. The work shows that some of calculation methods used in specific cases (ex. in a huge variability of soil pollution) could be more useful in the way of compiling distribution of pollutions than classical interpolation and regression models. The effect of the work was to define practical procedures of documentation in assessment of soil pollution: when there are no significance emission sources of pollution when the significance emission sources of pollution are probably present in situation of high and very variability concentration of pollution.
