Wydział Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki PrzemysłowejDetermining the state of equilibrium in steel refining processes plays an important role in view of process intensification possibilities, process control and related economic effects. The main objective of this thesis is to elaborate hybrid model of steel refining technology in ladle furnace and argon blowing through lance. Hybrid model consist of two different mathematical models. Metal bath mixing is described by mathematical model which based on tank theory. Thermodynamic model was used to describe the equilibrium state in thin layer between slag and metal bath. This objective can be attained by using a software package containing suitable thermodynamic data base and computing software integrated witch it. Thermodynamic data were taken from FactSage software. Both thermodynamic and mixing models were connected in Delphi using SimuSage developer package The results of the hybrid model have been verified using an industrial database.
