Wydział Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki PrzemysłowejAustenite - ferrite phase transformation modeling by solving diffusion equation with a moving boundary is the main aim of this work. Mathematical and numerical models describing γ–α phase transformation for granular ferrite were created. These models are based on the solution of the second Fick law for the: ID (linear growth), 2D (the circle in the circle, the regular hexagon in the regular hexagon) and 3D (the sphere in the sphere) cases. Results of the numerical simulations for ferrite and austenite grain shape dα, ferrite volume fraction ff, ferrite grain size and carbon segregation before the front of transformation were analyzed and discussed in the present work. The Enomoto algorithm describing directional growth of the ferrite grain was applied. Developed model was implemented into the Finite Difference as well as Finite Element Method. Results obtained from the developed phase transformation model were compared with the performed experiments and model proved its good predictive capabilities. Possibility of application in the industrial conditions to support creation of the new process routs is the main advantage of the developed model.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Restricted , Określanie składu fazowego metali i stopów z wykorzystaniem zmiennego pola magnetycznego(Data obrony: 2010) Tyrała, Edward
Wydział OdlewnictwaThe aim of the thesis was the application of the changeable magnetic field to investigate the composition of phases present in the metals and alloys. Ali experiments were performed on Fe-Cu alloy Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI). In order to make a study in the changeable magnetic field a prototype apparatus was performed. The magnetic coupling of alloy (Ps) was measured in the reversible range of magnetic field. The samples of Fe-Cu alloy have contained the different volume fraction of phases components. The linear dependence between the magnetic coupling and the volume fraction of phases components was observed. This observation can be used to estimate the quantitative phase composition in a biphase alloys. However, the magnetic coupling both phases must be different. The phases composition of ADI at different austempering time was investigated by metallographic, XRD, magnetic coupling and dilatometric measurements. The microstructure of ADI at whole austempering time contains at least three phases. In this case the value of austenite volume fraction can be estimated by magnetic coupling. The significant result of the thesis is performance of apparatus which allows to measure the electromagnetic parameter of alloy in the reversible magnetic field. In this work the linear dependence between magnetic coupling and volume fraction of phase components (ferro- and paramagnetic properties) was revealed.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Open Access , Wieloskalowy numeryczny model przemiany austenit - ferryt uwzględniający wpływ wydzieleń węglikoazotków niobu(Data obrony: 2008) Niżnik, Barbara
Wydział Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki PrzemysłowejThe objective of this work is elaboration of multiscale austenite – ferrite phase transformation model for microalloying niobium steel. The mathematical model which describe progress of austenite – ferrite phase transformation is composed with macro, micro and nano scale. Macro scale model is a solution of differential equations obtained by finite element method. The macro model calculates current locally values of an external variables ($T, \varepsilon, \sigma$) and transfers this information to micro model. Next, the micro model uses this information to determines the degree and heat of transformation and this information transfers to macro model. Whereas from the atomic scale is transferred information which are necessary in micro scale model calculations. This work contains results of physical and numerical modeling. Physical modeling includes plastometric and dilatometric tests as well as microstructure observations. Numerical model make use of solution obtained by finite element method which is connected with flow stress, kinetics precipitation, density dislocations and phase transformation model. To verify multiscale model experiment including rolling rod and dilatometric tests was made. It was showed that taking into account kinetics precipitation and density dislocations models in the austenite – ferrite phase transformation model and connection this models with finite element method allows predict correctly microstructure changes for different thermal – plastic treatment conditions.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Wpływ stężenia węgla na kinetykę przemian fazowych przechłodzonego austenitu w stalach niestopowych.(Data obrony: 2019-11-29) Florek, Michał
