    Water quality of the Czarna Woda and Gawlica (Świętokrzyski National Park) were assessed based on bacteriological indicators. Samples of water were taken from 12 sampling sites in August 2010. The coli test and the most probable number of coli form bacteria were analyzed. Moreover concentration of nitrates was analyzed by Ion Chromatography. In both checked water streams there were no pollution by nitrates. However, high bacteriological pollution was found. This was indicated by high number of the analyzed coli group. Probable reason of the bad water quality were uncontrolled sewage disposal from nearby houses. Permanent control of water streams is necessary.
