The widely applied types of beneficiation curves were discussed, which were the basis for forecast. To this purpose, four various approximations of relations ${\lambda} = {\lambda}(β)$ were taken into consideration. It was stated that they give various effects by transferring to curve ${\epsilon} = {\epsilon}({\beta})$ what is caused by high sensitivity of ${\epsilon}$ on changes of ${\beta}$. The second applied method based on dependency of parameters describing certain beneficiation curve on contents of lithology types in feed. The Dell and Fuerstenau curves were applied to this purpose. The obtained results were then evaluated, indicating that the full forecast of the results is practically impossible to obtain because it depends on too many factors.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Impact of quantitative and qualitative differentiation of feed on effectiveness of jig beneficiation process(2012) Kowol, Daniel; Łagódka, MichałSkuteczność działania osadzarek pulsacyjnych uzależniona jest od ich rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych oraz dostosowania parametrów pracy do charakterystyki wzbogacanego materiału i wymogów jakościowych procesu produkcyjnego. Niezwykle istotnym zagadnieniem jest odpowiednie przygotowanie (uśrednienie, wprowadzenie) materiału przeznaczonego do wzbogacania. W artykule zamieszczono wyniki badań laboratoryjnych zmierzających do określenia wpływu zróżnicowania ilościowo-jakościowego nadawy na skuteczność procesu jej rozdziału w osadzarce pulsacyjnej. Badania wykazały, że nierównomierne wprowadzanie materiału, na całej szerokości koryta roboczego, do osadzarki pulsacyjnej powoduje znaczne zmniejszenie skuteczności procesu wzbogacania. Stwierdzono, że większy wpływ na wynik procesu wzbogacania ma nierównomierność ilościowa wprowadzania nadawy.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Microwave beneficiation of brown coal(2007) Zimmermann, Erik; Niemann-Delius, ChristianCoals of the Rhenish lignite mines, designated for power plant utilization, were exposed to microwave radiation energy for different time periods and energy levels, varying from 2,5 kW up to 10 kW, in order to dry the coal. The samples were treated with microwave radiation with a frequency of 2,45 GHz. A batch- as well as a continuous drying simulation and a verification with pre- dried samples (70 degrees of Celsius for 24 h), were conducted on a pilot scale level industrial microwave oven. To prove the general viability of microwave radiation as a beneficial process for brown coal, basic coal properties such as moisture content, volatile matter and gross calorific value were analyzed. Results show, that nearly no decomposition of the coal takes place, the moisture content can be reduced to a suitable level for pulverized coal firing power plants, the gross calorific value increases and double energy input leads to halved drying times. Furthermore the temperature of the brown coal did not exceed 90 degrees of Celsius during exposure to microwaves at ambient temperature and normal atmospheric pressure. The drying of the coal with microwave radiation showed in a first approach no negative side effects of the coal properties.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The effect of beneficiation on some properties of osun state ceramic raw materials(AGH University of Science and Technology Press, 2019) Abiola, Oluranti Adetunji; Oke, Adekola Olayinka; Omidiji, Babatunde Victor; Adetan, Dare AderibigbeClay, feldspar and silica sand are important industrial minerals which often need treatment commonly known as beneficiation to improve the quality of ceramic tiles produced from these materials. The different minerals, after sorting, were treated separately in distilled water, alcohol and hydrochloric acid before being crushed in a ball mill, they were then characterized using a pelletron accelerator. The results show an increased silicon content for clay, silica sand and feldspar, and reduced aluminum content for clay and silica sand but not for feldspar. Iron impurity and its oxide are also shown to reduce by over 50% in all the minerals while potassium was found to be the dominant element in feldspar among the defining elements. In conclusion, the increased quartz in the mineral will improve the hardness, density, porosity, and rigidity of ceramic tiles as well as providing support and controlling shrinkage. Furthermore, increasing the mineral quotient in feldspar will enhance its fluxing potential.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wielowymiarowe charakterystyki węgli jako podstawa do oceny i korekty technologii ich wzbogacania(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Olejnik, Tomasz; Surowiak, Agnieszka; Gawenda, Tomasz; Niedoba, Tomasz; Tumidajski, TadeuszQuality of trade products (thick and medium assortments and fine coals) being produced in production cycle depends mainly on quality and state of coal deposits, methods of treating coal fields as well technologies of yield beneficiation. The high quality of coal beneficiation processes causes production of better concentrates and adjustment of quality and state of coal deposits by introduction proper methods of coal fields processing may lead to lowering amounts of wastes produced by mine as well lowering the charge for devices and machines of technological system. This may influence on lower failure rate and limitation of coal production costs. Generally, there are four basic coal beneficiation systems [12] taking into consideration their coal contents (coals classification), while the most complex beneficiation system is the one connected with coking coals. The paper presents the multidimensional analysis of coal on the basis of energetic coal and coal originated, among others, from mine »Bielszowice«.
