Wydział Inżynierii Materiałowej i CeramikiUsing sol-gel method biomaterials from system $SiO_{2}CaO-P_{2}O_{5}$ were obtained in form o granules, layers and porous sinters. Their structure and phase composition were tested and described in details. Other tests were conducted to answer the question how chemical and phase composition influence bioactivity of the obtained materials and how they behave in in vitro and in vivo conditions. The evaluation of bioactive properties was mainly conducted in simulated body fluid. Selected, representative materials were biologically verified. In vitro and in vivo cellular response was checked or in vivo test with animals in cooperating medical centers were conducted. The results prove good biocompatibility of all obtained materials. The granules of highest $CaO$ content were more resorbable, bone rebuilding process using S2 granules was evaluated higher than the process with the presence of allogene bone implants. The proves of good connection with bone tissue and build in of implants gave test of implanted porous materials to rabbit bones.
