    Inherent element of biographical research is showing if people have achieved success in life and what determined this success. The following article attempts to present what women from the Podkarpacie region who have achieved success in science, business and politics think about the determinants of success in life. It also introduces the ways of defining the concept of »success«. The word »success« is usually used to determine the achievements of a person related to their professional, social or economic activity which, in public opinion, rise above mediocrity. The perception of success also requires defining what factors facilitate and hinder its achievement. The views on this subject provide knowledge about the mentality, life strategies, and even the diversity of society.
