Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena możliwości wykorzystania do bioremediacji chromo-opornych bakterii wyizolowanych z gleby skażonej metalami ciężkimi na terenie gminy Alwernia(Data obrony: 2014-10-21) Balonek, Marcin
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe territory of Alwernia municipality, the location of the chemical plant “Alwernia S.A.”, is one the most chromium- contaminated places in this region. Decades of uncontrolled chromium emission have caused the accumulation of great amounts of this heavy metal in soil. Remediation of this territory by traditional methods would be expensive and time-consuming. The interesting alternative method is bioremediation using microorganisms. The pressure caused by chromium contamination, especially by very soluble and toxic form of Cr(VI), led to a development of chromate-resistance bacteria in the soil in that region. Nowadays, they can be effectively used to remediate either of soil or of the wastewaters containing high concentrations of chromium.
