    Chromium is a component necessary for the proper functioning of the body. Taking it in excess leads to health problems. The problem of groundwater contamination by chromium appeared Czestochowa in the second half of the twentieth century. Chemical Plant in Czestochowa-Aniolow and Chemical Plant in Rudniki were the main reasons of pollution. The aim of the thesis was to study the content of chromium in groundwater in the vicinity of Czestochowa and to present the current state of pollution. Studies have shown that the chromium contamination decreased.
