Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Abstraction layer for development and deployment of cloud services(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Nguyẽ̂n, Bình Minh; Trần, Việt; Hluchý, LadislavIn this paper, we will present an abstraction layer for cloud computing, which intends to simplify the manipulation with virtual machines in clouds for easy and controlled development and deployment of cloud services. It also ensures interoperability between different cloud infrastructures and allows developers to create cloud appliances easily via inheritance mechanisms.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An agent-based hierarchical approach for executing bag-of-tasks in clouds(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Funika, Włodzimierz; Mazurek, Kamil; Kruczkowski, WojciechUnlike message-passing applications, »bag-of-tasks« applications (BoTs), whose tasks are unrelated and independent (no inter-task communication), can be highly parallelized and executed in any acceptable order. A common practice when executing bag-of-tasks applications (BoT) is to exploit the master-slave topology. Cloud environments offer some features that facilitate the execution of BoT applications. One of the approaches to control-cloud resources is to use agents that are flexible actors in a dynamic environment. Given these assumptions, we have designed a combination of approaches which can be classified as distributed, hierarchical solutions to the issue of scalable execution of bag-of-tasks. The concept of our system relates to a project that is focused on processing huge quantities of incoming data from a network of sensors through the Internet. Our aim is to create a mechanism for processing such data as a system that executes jobs while exploiting load balancing for cloud resources which use applications such as Eucalyptus. The idea is to create a hybrid architecture which takes advantage of some centralized parts of the system and full distributedness in other parts. On the other hand, we balance dependencies between system components using a hierarchical master-slave structure.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Architektura rozproszonych systemów wysokiej dostępności w chmurze(Data obrony: 2017-01-16) Wawro, Marcin

The classification of network traffic in terms of benign and malevolent traffic is indispensable for IoT/cloud-based collaborative platforms for optimally utilizing channel capac ity for transmitting benign traffic and blocking malicious traffic. The traffic classification mechanism should be dynamic and capable enough for classifying network traffic in a quick manner so that malevolent traffic can be identified at earlier stages and benign traffic can be speedily channelized to the destined nodes. In this paper, we present a deep-learning recurrent LSTM RNet-based technique for classifying traffic over IoT/cloud platforms using the Word2Vec approach. Machine-learning techniques (MLTs) have also been employed for comparing the performance of these techniques with the proposed LSTM RNet classification method. In the proposed research work, network traffic is clas sified into three classes: Tor-Normal, NonTor-Normal, and NonTor-Malicious traffic. The research outcome shows that the proposed LSTM RNet accurately classifies such traffic and also helps reduce network latency as well as enhance data transmission rates and network throughput.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Evolutionary techniques of investment portfolio construction(Data obrony: 2014-10-29) Kocot, Mikołaj

The open satellite data that is provided by the USGS/NASA Landsat mission is quite suitable for estimating this parameter through the remote sensing technique. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the potentialities of the new Landsat 9 data for retrieving Earth’s albedo by applying da Silva et al.’s algorithm (developed in 2016 for the Landsat 8 data) using the Google Earth Engine cloud platform and R software. Two urban areas in Southern Italy with similar geomorphologic and climatic characteristics were chosen as study sites. After obtaining thematic maps of the albedos here, a statistical analysis and comparison among the Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 results was performed considering the entire study areas and each land use/land cover class that is provided by the Copernicus Urban Atlas 2018. This approach was also applied to the data after being filtered through Tukey’s test (used to detect and remove outliers). The analysis showed a very good correlation between the Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 estimations (ρ > 0.94 for both sites), with some exceptions that were related to some mis-corresponding values. Furthermore, the Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 outliers were generally overlapping. In conclusion, da Silva et al.’s approach appears to also be reasonably applicable to the Landsat 9 data despite some radiometric differences.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Installation of complex e-Science applications on heterogeneous cloud infrastructures(Data obrony: 2012-09-17) Wilk, Bartosz

General and particular decision-making models are considered, and their main aspects such as team types, problem solving categories, and decision-making ways are analyzed. The research concerns representative groups of IT specialists and their preferences in decision-making are investigated. Four possible cases were tested: hierarchical choice (by leader) team members' choice (team consensus or voting) and external expert impact. It allows one to show some differences in the behaviors of both traditional and virtual teams.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Projekt i implementacja aplikacji internetowej do przechowywania i udostępniania plików(Data obrony: 2018-01-29) Jureczka, Kamil
Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The CC1 project - system for Private Cloud Computing(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Chwastowski, Janusz; Grzymkowski, Rafał; Kruk, M.; Nabożny, Maciej; Natkaniec, Zbigniew; Olszewski, Andrzej; Pałka, H.; Sobocińska, Zofia; Sośnicki, Tomasz; Szostak, Michał; Syktus, Przemysław; Witek, Mariusz; Wójcik, Piotr; Wojtoń, Tomasz; Zdybał, Miłosz; Żabiński, BartłomiejThe main features of the Cloud Computing system developed at IFJ PAN are described.
