Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A feasibility study of synthetic substances used for the sealing of old workings transformed into underground gas storages(2014) Rybicki, Czesław; Chromik, MariuszIn the now both in the world and in Poland grows the meaning of underground gas storages. Except storages located in depleted gas reservoirs salt caverns the attention deserve storages in mining-excavations. In this type gas storages it exists the problem of the seal of the rock massive. For that purpose comply different methods among other things the housing with the steel-cloak and the water curtain. Authors of the article propose the innovative method of sealing up of the rock massive at the use of plastics as composites. The article has a generał character because in practice this method was not applied. In opinion of authors this method seems to be interesting and effective.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An analysis of the features of cast composite materials based on light alloys reinforced by particles(AGH University of Science and Technology Press, 2022) Dan, Olena LeonìdìvnaLight alloys are widely used in industry and everyday life due to their high physical and mechanical properties, wear and corrosion resistance, as well as low cost. In this regard, the use of light alloys as a basis for composite materials is both justified and expedient. The potential of these materials has not been fully used to this day, despite the growing interest in metal matrix composites and extensive investigations aimed at the development of production technology and the introduction of advanced systems based on light matrices. The article presents a short review of the analysis of the main components of the technology of cast composite materials based on light alloys of aluminum and magnesium reinforced by particles. Particular attention is paid to the choice of the matrix alloy, the type, size and amount of reinforcing particles introduced into it, as well as the thermal-time and kinetic parameters of the process.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Mechanical and thermal properties of graphene over composite materials: a technical review(AGH University of Science and Technology Press, 2019) Islam, Md Mashrur; Ahmed, Sadman Saffaf; Rashid, Moshiur; Akanda, Md MasumThe recent years have seen numerous developments in the research and headway of graphene, the thinnest two-dimensional nuclear material. Graphene-based materials and their composites have promising applications in an extensive variety of fields, for example, gadgets, biomedical guides, films, adaptable wearable sensors, and actuators. The most recent investigations and movement in this branch of knowledge regularly deliver conflicting or uncertain outcomes. This article evaluates and outlines the distributed information in order to give a basic and complete diagram of the cutting edge. Initially, the particular basic nature of accessible graphene materials is illustrated as well as the distinctive generation methods accessible thus far. The appraisal at that point talks about the different composites that center diverse sub-practical routines, for example, mechanical and aggregate utilitarian applications (e.g., vitality, hardware biomedical, layers, and sensors). The use of graphene and its subsidiaries in the fabricate of nanocomposites with various polymer frameworks has been inspected. And finally, an ending and point of view are given to talking about the rest of the difficulties for graphene nanocomposites in useful science and building.
