    Wpływ oczyszczalni ścieków w Brzesku na jakość wody rzeki Uszwicy

    The main topic of the thesis is the environmental impact assessment of the wastewater treatment plant in Brzesko on the water quality of the Uszwica river during variable flows of water. Water samples was taken at two points, located above and below the wastewater treatment plant respectively, in the period from June to October 2010. Then, samples were subjected to laboratory analysis by the Ion chromatography method to determine the concentration of anions F-, Cl- NO3- i SO42- . Results of this analysis showed that the most important influence of wastewater treatment plant is observed in during low flow when the dilution of sewages discharged to the Uszwica water is greatly reduced. In such conditions, in point below the wastewater treatment plant, concentrations of ions Cl- i NO3- were nearly twice, and in case of F- even three times, higher than in point above the plant. A significant correlation between the flow and the concentration of selected anions is confirmed by high correlation coefficients, and a full correlation between pairs of anions F--Cl-, Cl--SO42-, F--SO42- in point below the treatment plant, indicates a common source, associated with discharge of treated wastewater.
