    Paving surfaces are an integral part of many cities. Created hundreds of years, changing their appearance and the material from which they were made. Take the subject of Wawel pavement behavior and their origin was associated with restoration work carried out in recent years, the courts of the Castle. Determine which stone is characterized by the weakest properties, avoiding rapid destruction of new pavement. Objective of the work is evaluation of stone material used for the construction of paving and paving stones at Castle courtyards. Limited samples for microscopic examination, allowed only on macroscopic evaluation of the majority of the material. However, the obtained three samples made it possible to make microscopic examinations involving the petrographic analysis. Unfortunately we were unable to analyze the changes in stone.
