    The study presents the air quality in Cracow. Major sources of pollution emission and their types were highlighted. The status of utilisation of conventional energy sources and renewable energy sources was described. The on-going and scheduled remedial actions related to the air quality situation in the Cracow agglomeration were specified. The opportunities for air quality improvement in Cracow by using renewable energy sources were analysed.
