Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An assessment of the susceptibility of Becorit K-255B and Modar R3/Mz friction linings(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Stawowiak, Michał; Rożenek, ZenonThe article presents an assessment of the susceptibility of friction linings from two selected manufacturers. These tests are extremely important when assessing the safety of existing and newly designed shaft lifts and ski cableways. The research was carried out on measuring equipment at the Department of Mining Mechanization and Robotization of the Silesian University of Technology, where this type of research has been conducted for years. A measuring amplifier, road transducers, force transducers and a hydraulic testing machine were used for the tests, thanks to which the pressure was applied to the rope on which the friction lining was applied. The measurements were recorded on a computer, which was a recording and measuring station, after which they were processed, saved in tables and presented to the reader in the form of graphs. The main purpose of these tests was to obtain results giving information about the rope displacement at a specific pressure to the groove of the friction lining. It is also worth mentioning that the factor that has a significant impact on the achieved values of displacements is the time of the test. It is related to the properties of the material of which the friction linings are made that are used as a running track for the ropes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Doświadczalna weryfikacja obliczeń nośności bocznej pali(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Rybak, Jarosław; Wyjadłowski, MarekThe computations of the lateral capacity of piles and their horizontal displacement are extraordinarily complex and they depend on the underlying assumptions. Designing lateral capacity of piles, therefore, bears the risk of errors - no matter how advanced the method of computations is. One way to obtain correlation between the computations and the pile's actual work in a structure is to carry out lateral load tests. Such examination makes it possible to estimate the displacement and to determine (depending on the predefined criteria) the maximum force loading the pile. This work presents the results of static computations and their experimental verification in relation to a small diameter pile (injection micro- piles) reinforced with a steel pipe. The computations were carried out by means of the norm method, taking into account the actual pile rigidity and assuming that the pile head had not been fixed.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geodynamika centralnej części Górnego Śląska w świetle badań GPS(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Jochymczyk, Krzysztof; Zuberek, Wacław MarianThe seismological study carried out in the area of the Upper Silesia Coal Basin shows the close connection between strong tremors and geological structure. In this region tectonic stresses can be intensified by other stresses which have occurred owing to mining exploitation. To obtain the most valuable information on this relation leading to its plausible interpretation, it seems to be purposeful and advisable to apply geodynamical investigation. However, such a kind of investigation belongs to a long-term one, and its interpretation is relatively difficult owing to the fact that the area is under the intensive mining exploitation resulting in large dislocation and mining damage. That is why the geodynamical investigation in such troublesome region, despite the use of a high-tech GPS method, should be additionally developed by making detailed geological inspection and seismological research. Moreover, a geological survey should be done with great accuracy in the region of mining activity because it plays a key role in a complex interpretation based on obtained data. In the paper preliminary results of GPS measurements taken from 8 survey points are presented. The survey points were located meridionally in the north and central part of the USCB between Świerklaniec town and Mikołów town.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Proposal for the technology of surveying works related to the study of deformation and displacement fresh steam pipeline to a boiler(2010) Buśko, Małgorzata; Krzyżek, RobertThe present paper describes the process of determining deformation and displacement of fresh steam pipeline to a boiler. Subject of the measurements was the pipeline located on several stores. Therefore, particular attention was drawn to determining the location of the test points of the pipeline and difficulties involved proper selection of the reference system and height system.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , System ciągłego monitoringu przemieszczeń i deformacji wyrobisk górniczych w PGE KWB Bełchatów SA - aspekt funkcjonalny i dokładnościowy(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Karsznia, Krzysztof; Czarnecki, Leopold; Stawowy, LucjanThe exploitation of a brown coal deposit by using the open-pit method can generate various problems and threats coming from mining works bounded with accessing the successive levels. In the case of an open-cut mine, to the most dangerous problems belong land slides, especially of a multi-slope shape and appearing in an unpredictable and uncontrolled way. In the article a modern technical solution used for surface deformations monitoring by applying technical solutions of Leica Geosystems was presented. To geodetic and geotechnical data integration it was used a monitoring and control software »GeoMoS« (Geodetic Monitoring System) which - if properly configured and calibrated - makes it possible to execute measurement cycles of control points. The current on-line monitoring of surface deformations in the land slide risk area allows specialists to conduct safe opencast works.
