Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Strain distribution in cogging process of ingots with internal discontinuities(2009) Chyła, Paweł; Łukaszek-Sołek, Aneta; Sińczak, JanIn this paper is presented analysis of cogging process of the 16 Mg ingot in the three-dimensional state of deformation, using commercial program QForm 3D to valuate effective strain distribution. Additionally voids closing were analysed, which were purposely inserted (various diameters and shapes) in selected areas. Numerical calculations were carried out for two following processes: upsetting of the reforged ingot and cogging process. Cogging operation of reforged material was simulated according to two schedules from the head and the bottom side of the ingot. As a criterion of valuation of the cogging process with flat dies were accepted maps of effective strain distribution.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Strain in the upsetting process(2007) Kajtoch, JerzyIn the paper strain distribution in materials commonly referred to as soft materials (electrolytic copper 99,9 % Cu, annealed) and hard ones (steel 20, containing 0,2 % C) produced during hot upsetting process. Numerical calculations were performed with a use of commercial software QForm2D/3D. Significance of the influence of friction forces in the head surface on the free surface profile and distor-tion of rectangular coordination grid of deformations, as well as, effective strain distribution, in various stages of the process was investigated. The results indicate changes in nonuniformity of strain in obtained forgings.
