Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analiza zmian koncentracji na światowym rynku gazu ziemnego(2010) Kryzia, DominikThis article presents changes in degree of concentration that have occurred over the years on market of natural gas. Aspects such as resources, production, consumption, export and import of natural gas were taken into account. The level of concentration was calculated on basis of participation of individual countries in terms of global data values. The calculation of concentration degree was made also for the world as a whole on the basis of the shares of the different regions. Importance of degree of market concentration on formation of level of energy security was also explained. To measure concentration Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) was used. The rest of article examines changes in calculated value of HHI and discuss the most important of them. Assesses their significance and determined effects of which have on the natural gas market. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe accumulation of natural gas in the region between Debica and Przeworsk is mainly connected with the autochthonous Miocene Carpathian Foredeep. In this area documented a total of 35 beds, of which 11 are currently in operation. Natural gas is present in the Commonwealth of Independent alternating sandstone-mudstone levels and sandstone. Gas accumulations occur in different types of traps, which is the most common form anticlines compaction. Therefore, the bed consists of a plurality of gas-bearing horizons. Resources of natural gas from producing fields in the period 2000-2011 amounts to 4,712.58 million m3, while the average annual production of natural gas in the area is 149.57 million m3. Natural gas resources available allow for energy security community for many years. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaMain Dolomite unit is the biggest oil-bearing formation in the Polish Lowland. In the Main Dolomite occur both source and reservoir rocks. The following master’s thesis contain a geochemical analysis of samples from the Main Dolomite strata in the area of the Grotów Peninsula. Analysis showed that the majority of samples were characterized by high hydrocarbon potential, resulting in a high occurrence of epigenetic hydrocarbons and high transformation of organic matter. Oil-prone type II kerogen is dominating in analyzed samples. This confirms the high level of the Main Dolomite rocks’ maturity. Kluczowym problemem dla krajowego rynku energetycznego jest obecna transformacja z polityki energetycznej opartej na węglu na gospodarkę niskoemisyjną i ekologiczną. Głównym zamierzeniem w tej pracy było przeprowadzenie oceny fundamentalnych polskich i europejskich aktów prawnych oraz dokumentów strategicznych. Dodatkowo praca zawiera porównanie publicznych programów wsparcia dla inwestycji w tej technologii. Moreover, the article analyses the relations between UGS's locations, directions of natural gas supplies and the amount of gas consumption in chosen countries.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Rola węgla w energetyce i strategia polskiego górnictwa węgla brunatnego w I połowie XXI wieku(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Tajduś, Antoni; Czaja, Piotr; Kasztelewicz, ZbigniewIn the last few dozens of years we have seen rapid growth of the global economy, coupled with the increase of electricity consumption, both in mature economies and developing countries. Basing on available sources and forecasts the author describes current trends in the use of different sources and fuels for electricity production in Poland and abroad. The global economic crisis slightly inhibited growth in the demand for energy, but it appears likely that this will only effect of short-lived. The world, especially developing countries like India and China, is rapidly increasing its demand for energy. In the absence of consensus on limiting $CO_{2}$ emissions, the most realistic forecasts show that further increase of the importance of fossil fuels, especially coal, will follow. This puts our country, with large reserves of this fuel, in a privileged position in relation to other European countries, that depend heavily on imported minerals. Meanwhile, energy policy assumes a reduction in coal mining. This scenario, described in the article, now has a good chance of realization due to the assumption made by the Government to abandon the greater use of domestic energy resources for energy production and replace them with imported technologies and sources. This approach results in exports of both capital and jobs outside Polish borders. It is neither building energy security, nor reducing our exposure to increased geopolitical risk.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Rynek LNG w Europie a niekonwencjonalne źródła gazu ziemnego(2010) Kaliski, Maciej; Krupa, Marcin; Sikora, AndrzejThe role of natural gas in the world's energy supply is growing rapidly. Since the autumn of 2008, the global LNG supply/demand balance has changed dramatically especially in the US. Forecasts showed, that in the future potential world demand for LNG will be higher then supply over about 35 bln m3. The most competitive region will be Atlantic Ocean market where there is estimation for available supply for ca. 150-160 bln m3 natural gas in liquid form and potential demand which will reach the level of even 225-230 bln m3 natural gas. In such circumstances Europe could "in reality" buy max. 80-90 bln m3 natural gas in LNG form without additional overpayment for such commodity. Recent announcements evaluate increase of the CBM, tight sand gas and shale gas production to 2020 by major players i.e. Sweden, Poland and Germany. These new players could or will ensure shale gas production growth in the next decade. Marekt situation is developing rapidly. While the LNG situation is changing dramatically and there are the factors which are additionally expected to the great influence on the LNG market. Authors discuss the LNG balance for the European market. Article focuses on possible influence of unconventional gas in Europe which will be evaluated together with LNG supply/ demand balance.
