    Increasing ecological awareness, as well as more restrictive environmental regulations contribute to a meticulous consideration of environmental issues in business management. The thesis presents environmental costs management system and components of environmental costs in the hard coal industry. The research is based on the example of LW Bogdanka S.A. taking into account the environmental costs incurred by the mine from 2012 to 2015. The implementation of a cost-effective environmental management system makes it possible to increase the efficiency of pro-ecological activities, and thus to balance the natural environment and to reduce the environmental costs formation.
